Use the cap space to add assets. Like Gerald Wallace expiring for first round pick, OJ Mayo for first round pick so that Bucks can resign Knight without going heavily over the cap. Javale Mcgee's expiring for first round pick.

Figures that you would take this stance on the deal. You do realize that you sound like the sour old man screaming from his porch? How can you complain about the deal when you didn't like the Knicks talent to begin with? Phil cleaning house is a good thing at this point. I see no downside to these moves. We need cap space and to get rid of players that clearly don't fit the direction this franchise is headed.

Shumpert was a worthless RFA gonner anyway

It really is. That's a home run. I hated Shump. He will be like the 9th guy on the Spurs, have two good weeks and guns will scream from the mountain tops we traded the best two player since Ewing. See ya JR. Getting the season woody got from him 2 years ago was his biggest accomplishment

Hate is a strong word. You sure? This is what you said 2months ago...
http://74.208.110.179/forum/topic.asp?t=48495&p=s

Readcwhat I wrote. Both players suck. Shumpert sucked less. We should have traded him to okc years ago. I'm sorry your boy got traded. Hey I loved Mosgov. Life goes on. Shumpert had some nice moments but what sticks out the most are all the games he scored zero points and the extended visits on the DL. Thanks but no thanks

Got it Fish. Your definition of hatred is different than mine

Get over yourself dude

No you get over yourself.

No YOU get over YOURSELF. seriously dude... I'm close to all caps. I'm talking the whole sentence. You do NOT want to go there.

Chill out Fish, how many people are you going to have a go at today?
THAT'S IT. CAPS LOCK ON. HAMMERS DROPPING.

Lol I'm joking. Did you miss the part where I threatened him with caps? Seriously people you need to lighten up. Wtf

Yea you can make a case it is solid under these horrible circumstances.

No this deal is awful, it means we'regoing to grossly

Overpay someone next year and I mean way overpay

Look we needed a pick we could use right away, It's real simple we're rebuilding

There are no free agents that will put us over the top next year

Probably not even a top 8 team

A 2019 pick 2nd rounder is about as irrelevant as it gets

Why are we counting Dolan's pennies now

We used to threaten to match contracts up to a billion dollars

AND IT'S NOT YOUR OUR MONEY

Im looking to add more picks not trade them away. Gerald Wallace, Mcgree and Mayo are not worth giving picks up for. They are to eat expiring salary so that we can get the teams picks for taking on these contracts.

Example Boston might be wiling to trade a first rounder to dump Gerlad Wallace contract in the offseason.

In Briggs defense he said solid trade. Had it been a 1st rounder in 2016 then you could argue a homerun

What kind of warped ass logic are you using? PLEASE GTFOH!!! PLEASE! You have no credibility anymore at this point. You can't bitch about a team and then when we clean house and clear even more cap space trash the deal. Make up your damn mind!!!

Well, yeah. The Tyson trade is still a really bad trade but this is one is actually good. We're dumping JR's salary and getting back a real asset all for the price of Shumpert.

Yeah, if these reports are true, then Phil followed up several gutters with a strike here.

This takes the roster gutting one more step further. That's it. Nothing lost. Jr gone is $6mm more to spend elsewhere. Shumpert was not getting resigned. Your hope for his value is either a pick back or he helps you dump salary. This was the latter.

Knicks could have as much as $30 million in cap room this summer....Cavs main target was Shumpert, were willing to take JR Smith to get him

That's what I am seeing. You dump Jr by giving up a guy you weren't resigning. That's a good thing
