It has gotten much worse. Game threads used to be a place where guys went to root for the team not hope for misfortune. Probably time to take a break as I can't get used to this.

just want to be sure i get where you are coming from: he is entitled to a max contract, all the money he can get, and it's the knicks problem that they paid him that much, right?

and melo is treating himself like a commodity, right?

and you resent when other people are complaining about the clear built-in obsolescence in a guy who treats himself like a commodity and basketball as a business move and who gets max money? is this what i am to understand?

Let me translate: Melo deserves every dime because that is what most people would do too. But if he can't play and the team is screwed for the next five seasons as a result, they won't be able to watch anymore because of people saying told you so, not because the team sucks because it gambled on an overrated player with lots of mileage on his body.
