HELLO!!! TONY PARKER! Mr.Back-to-Back Finals finalist.

Westbrook is a zero sum player. He stuffs a stat sheet but he's every bit as likely to consistently get lost on a switch, force dumb shots that shifts momentum and to disrupt team chemistry. What makes him so different from a Steve Francis?

Hello, Tony is not a true point and gets yelled at constantly by pop since his arrival. He pounds the ball way to much at times which leads him to playing off the ball. On the other side of the ball he has put in effort but usually they try to hide him.

To many people seek perfection in players.

I never suggested that Tony Parker doesn't have his flaws- all players do. The difference with Tony and a guy like Russell is that Tony does not allow those flaws to consume his game. He will consistently make the right decisions and never stray from a team concept. You think Tony Parker would jack up 5 consecutive bad shots, one of which included shooting a half-court shot with 15 seconds left on the clock and down 2 in overtime? Westbrook is simply a dumb player, that people expect to get smarter with age. Unfortunately, there is no cure for stupid and I think the guy will continue these antics for the rest of his career. Add to the fact that he has one of the most obnoxious egos in the game and I think it's unlikely that he'll ever understand why he needs to change his game. They need to trade him before he hurts himself again and I think a package featuring Kyrie Irving would be perfect for them.

I actualy know Parker used to do stupid things like Westbrook and still does at times. Take a look at some of Parker Playoff numbers.

I also, have thought about a Kyrie/Westbrook trade but if you are OKC your'e gaining a slightly better gunner with worst defense. However, it might be the ri8ght time to snag an Irving while he is still young and can be coached up.

I don't recall but will defer to you on this one because I avoided watching the Spurs, like the plague back in the day. I do remember that they were rumored to have had Parker on the block: (1) once for Jason Kidd before he re-signed with the Nets and (2) when George Hill first emerged. Knowing all of that, there must be something to what you are saying.

In spite of all of that, I still have my concerns with Westbrook. He has a poor feel for the game and few skills beyond his otherworldly athleticism. Guys like that tend to have very short shelf-lives because of the stresses they put on their bodies (see Derrick Rose, Antonio McDyess, etc.). He's one tweaked knee away from being very ordinary. I think the prudent thing to do would be to move him ASAP and like you, I think Kyrie would be a great replacement. Yes, his defense is shoddy but there is nothing physically wrong with him to think that he can't/won't find his stride on this end of the floor.

Many here have hoped OKC would consider Chandler/Iman along with their 2 1st rounders this season, they own Memphis's 2017 2nd rounder, and many of their own picks but they don't need any more YOUNG talents, they need to go on WIN NOW MODE because if not they risk losing Durant in 2016 summer, allowing him to not even hesitate about signing an extension and question the direction of the team/owernship

but

Offer the Bulls a package that they would have trouble refusing, in addition to their own 2 1st rounders and a 2nd rounder this summer, allowing them to have 5 picks this summer, and massive cap space in 2015 and after
OKC should offer a package for Noah, maybe Jimmy Butler or Sneil
With expirings and fill ins with Perkins, Nick Collison, Thabeet, Perry Jones, and even Jeremy Lamb to sweeten the deal if needed, in addition to the 2 1st rounders this summer and future picks, even taking back Dunleavey's contract if needed, but first they should use the full MLE for Trevor Ariza *trick is to stay under the predicted tax threshold at about 75-77m than the current 72m*

OKC
=======

Westbrook/Reggie Jackson
Ariza/ Jimmy Butler
Durant/ Dunleavy JR if needed
Ibaka/Durant
Noah/Adams

Reggie Jackson
Jimmy Butler/Ariza
Dunleavy JR
Caron Butler
Steven Adams

vet min
vet min
undrafted talents

Bulls
============

Derrick Rose
Taj Gibson

Keeping either Sneil or Butler, probably better off keeping Sneil for cap reasons

Lamb
Perry Jones

MLE this summer

picks 16, 19, 21, 29, and 49
In addition to future draft picks including Memphis's 2017 2nd rounder and future 1st rounders from OKC
Over 30m in cap space in 2015 summer

They can also look to trade Thibs for a 1st rounder like Boston did for Rivers, looking to do a quick rebuild as their owner is a penny pincher
Possibly even to OKC as well as Brook's is just not a good coach with premium talent

4 1st rounders in this draft, with future draft picks from OKC as well

Westbrook
================

Whether Westbrook is a PG or not is irrelevant, whether he is a SG or PG, he is a supreme ALL STAR caliber talent and is a lockdown defender
Give him DEF specialists in Noah, Ariza, Jimmy Butlers versatility, LOCK DOWN DEF, Size, and REBOUNDING ability, along with the spacing that Ariza provides with his athleticism/length, and Noah's ability to create/initiate the Offense from the PnR, Post, and his ability to pass/facilitate and call it a new Dynasty in the making with The Spur's falling out soon with their age and retirement of Poppavich

They would be unstoppable both on the full court press, length/size/athleticism, and half court sets with that amount of depth and talent
Add in a better coach like Thibs, they easily are set for the next 6years +

With Houston, Clippers, Golden State, Blazers, possibly Mav's, being the other candidates but are far behind when compared to the team assembled above

OKC BIG 3, BIG 4 with Ibaka, including great complimentary young role players/2nd tier/3rd tier talents
=================================================================================================================

Westbrook
Durant
Noah

Ibaka

Reggie Jackson
Ariza/Butler
Adams

in addition to future MLE's (not even needed) and easy vet min players coming for the cheap

I would ask back for Bull's 2nd rounder this summer, using it on a PG like Kane/Dwinwiddie or whoever that falls, even purchasing a 2nd rounder from Philly or Bucks *since they are in another conference and have multiple draft picks that they cannot all utilize*

or

Backaski and Kendall Williams *especially if these guys go undrafted*
They have a great development staff and have players that are gym rats, imposing the leadership off the court and will to win both on the court and off the court
Whether it is in practice/locker rooms, and in the gym
Those future 1st round picks they would give up mean NOTHING to entice Bulls while they have a core like this that goes over 8-12 DEEP

I wouldn't throw the entire mid level at Trevor Ariza if I were OKC, especially if it's to play SG. They could re-sign Sefalasha and Anthony Morrow for the same amount of money they'd shell out for one year of Trevor. I expect Lamb and Reggie Jackson to improve on their own next year. If the Thunder can pick up Noah and Butler, they have to do it. But acquiring Noah would be a tall order and I don't think Chicago is looking to do a full rebuild now.

I think OKC is done with selfalosa and Morrow. Those two players are vet min types. The risk with Ariza is that he doesn't have a track record of being a good shooter and many players have had good seasons just before their pay day only to return to form. However, 3-5M(MLE) would not be that bad of a risk.

If I was OKC I would trade for Aflalo, someone with a track record of shooting well and playing D.

I'm sure Houston thought the same thing when they signed Ariza to his last mid-level deal. Ariza at $3 million isn't that bad. Ariza at the full mid-level? I would feel more comfortable paying less to sign Morrow and re-sign Thabo. At least they won't feel trapped by their deals a year or two down the line. Aflalo would be a good fit, but I don't know who OKC can give up to make it work. A package of Lamb, and a 1st rounder might be a decent start. But that doesn't match up salary wise.
