Lakers saw what happened with that.

I wasn't thrilled about replacing Dantoni with Woodson but I thought he did a good job in the regular season. Then the playoffs rolled around and I saw why Atlanta got rid of him

I also wanted to see Dantoni go because it was clear him and Melo just wasn't going to work.

Similar to how people want to see Woodson go now. People are always going to defend coaches

MisterEarl - you have the ability to make ANYONE YOU WANT to sound like he is an EPIC/LEGENDARY player whether he may be NBA material or not

You are unable to figure out what the starting lineup should be when we only had one winning streak
Go figure....

Once again, I have said that Woodson makes poor decisions to stick with POOR DEFENSIVE players to finish games with ONLY 1 possession left, like Felton and Udrih
Only to repeat making the same poor decision time after time

Starting players that have no played in a long while and are not in NBA shape
and
Choosing STAT over Copeland in the playoffs despite STAT not playing 3 months
If anyone watched the Pacer's series at all in the play offs, they could see we were UNABLE to get in the paint, but Woodson did nothing to counter that despite having 2 successful blowouts in the season when we had 5 3pt shooters in the court to COUNTER that and VOGEL saying that it was tough for Hibbert and the Pacers to defend

Again, constantly putting in players that have shown the inability to perform and expecting a different result will not work, you don't need to be an NBA coach to realize that....

All of these decisions while we were all playing well and were on winning streaks
So if it ain't broken why FIX IT?
IF something is working well for us and something wasn't working well for us, WHY CONTINUE it?
A blind man can see that these poor decisions and that is why I have NO FAITH in Woodson to EVER lead us to a finals...

At the very least, let them earn their starting spot or rotation again by getting in NBA shape would be a better solution with more practice and games

Knicks have been dominant w/ Melo-Bargnani lineups in past 10 gms: 122 pts per 100 plays on O; allowing 87 pts per 100 plays on D in 30 mins

In regards to Cope the playoffs are win or go home. Cope got the start in game 1 of the boston series and looked shook. He also didn't score for the entire boston series. Maybe Woodson lost some faith in his 28 year old rookie undrafted free agent. Amare playing was puzzling but in looking at the situation maybe he thought he could catch lightening in a bottle with Stat. Also the Knicks had no size with Tyson 1/4 of himself so the thought might have been that Amare might have given them something. Amare only got about 9 minutes a game and didn't get on the court for two games.

A 54 win season last year did not solve our coaching problems. He can get away with his issues during the regular season but they ALWAYSshow up in the playoffs. Let's not make this same mistake again.

Since this seems similar to a post I responded to yesterday when someone tried to blame our coaches lack of ability to coach on injures, I will re-post my answer to him in this thread.

I am not sure if you are talking about other people but injured players have nothing to do with why I think woody is a bad coach.
Playing JR clutch minutes when it is obvious he is having an awful game has nothing to do with injuries.
Going ISO Melo at the end of every single close game has nothing to do with injuries.
Double teaming crappy players in the post only to give up open 3's has nothing to do with injures.
The inability to know when to call timeouts at the end of the game has nothing to do with injuries.
The preferential treatment he has towards players has nothing to do with injuries.
His lack of situational play calling has nothing to do with injures.
His lack of plays that don't lead to an ISO Melo has nothing to do with injuries.
His lack of in game adjustments has nothing to do with injuries.
His lack of Playoff series adjustments has nothing to do with injuries.
His lack of basketball IQ has nothing to do with injuries.
There is a ton of reasons why I thought woody was a bad coach and I still think he is a bad coach. There is a good chance I am forgetting a lot more issues I have with him.

You forgot the switching defense, which has resulted in more mismatches than any one person can count.
That dead stare after each missed defensive assignment or chucked up shot.
His failure to replace said player on the bench after such horrendous transgressions.

Crush, it is quite clear we have different views on the team from reading our posts in the pasts but we don't belittle each other and I we can accept that we have different opinions
Amare didn't play for 3 freaking MONTHS and played what a little over 1 month after not playing another 6?
Woodson plays favoritism and it shows, that is why he cannot hold his team accountable (never will he be able to do what he did when he took over the time)
He contradicts what says with he does, says stuff that bites him in the ass, and from what I see, is what he is (a coach that could get you in the play offs but unlikely to past the 2nd round, or ECF and Finals (high unlikely)

I am surprised that Amare and Martin have made it this far with the way Woodson used them (more Martin than Amare)
but with Amare's condition did anyone really not expect it to happen?

We still have Cole Alrich who I suspect will never get any PT besides garbage time anyway

He just doesn't make good decisions, doesn't look to build the confidence in his young roster, doesn't fully utilize his team/roster, doesn't come up with real PLAY's and OPTIONS
MAKES or his HORRIBLE in adjustments, and worse of all, he doesn't see any of his mistakes, repeating them again and again, and is too blind and stubborn to ever chance it despite getting the ax from Atlanta because of the reasons above

In your mind, you make your own rules anyway, you continue to use big words and flashy statements because YOU BELIEVE and want to make something dramatic out of it
Yet continue to belittle the opinions of some here like I am the only one that says it, well I am not the only one that believes it but you make it seem like it is the first time you ever heard it

You remember that PF/C that played on our summer league a couple years back, I said I didn't believe he was NBA caliber talent because of his lack of foot speed but you continued to make him sound heroic with many other bench warmers while he has still not played in the NBA but still, him playing soccer you compared him to Hakeem and some other NBA greats

My point is you always make drama and exaggerate talent of the ones that DO NOT DESERVE it because you WANT TO while I put valid points out there that you don't agree with but you attack

Where did all those heroic Earl Smith, Felton, MWP, Pablo, and more 10+ man heroic posts go??
Do you want me to *bump* all of those big and heroic posts you made?

Thank You for playing, yet you continue to dodge and NOW answer my questions despite me answering urs...

Nalod defends Woodson, like He defended MDA, Chaney, and JVG...........These are good guys and good coach's. Its the roster, it injuries, and sometimes things come together nice (54 wins) and karma turns around like this year.

Folk are already thinking bashing Woody for playing Melo big minutes. Today on Hoopshype THibs points out Phil Jax played Mike and Pip huge minutes!

Why am I defending woody? Because the roster is not condusive to winning. Last year I thought we'd break down and we did in the playoffs. Last year Kidd and Rashweed gave us a nice boost!!
