Since it seems like Grunwald didn't quit or re-sign but was asked demoted, then he at least would be receiving his full contract salary. Not that this matters to Dolan, but it does give Grunny and his family some financial security. I think Grunwald will get signed by another team was he is let go by Dolan.

Yes, because he's getting paid, and now it's over and done with. Our allegiance stands, and this makes cracks in it. I don't just feel bad because of Grunwald, I feel bad because I saw a dash of hope, but that's been destroyed because if the owner can make this kind of a decision for no apparent, obvious basketball reason, then what are the signs that point to a championship caliber organization?

Bad things happened, losses piled up, and when certain decisions were made and didn't work out, we took solace in the fact that well, they're trying, and it was only the wrong decision because it didn't result in wins and more success than years past. I would like ONE GOOD BASKETBALL REASON as to why it was necessary for Grunwald to step down, because his job performance resulted in more wins and higher ticket prices for this shmuck.

He see's that there's success in the years to come, so now he's going back to making decisions with his black, crummy heart.

I laugh at the same people who were head over heels for Grunwald rationalizing/supporting the Mills hire. Even if it's a 'wait and see' approach. There are certain people who will rationalize any move, even the re-hiring of Isiah if it came down to it. This move is awful on all counts. Nothing good comes of firing your GM for no reason before the season starts to replace him with a moron who hired and harbored morons during his previous tenure here. There is no silver lining here, no bright side. Not with this owner.

That Brooklyn deal that was made with Boston really means that a lot of people will be watching the Nets games. I probably will be watching the games but hoping that the NETS loose. My man ZEKE LOL I must say I will pay no attention to the front office. I will just enjoy the games.

I'm gonna reserve judgment until I see what this is really all about. How things fully shake out. It's strange to be sure, but I can't say if this is good or bad at this point. Who knows what this means? If H2O moves up isn't that kind of a possible good development? Maybe this just makes it easier to fire Woodson if they have to. I just don't know what to think. Dolan is an enigma.

There was a lot of fire woodson spewed all over the radio after the embarrassment that was the Indiana series. I'm sure that is one of the major factors. When the media and rest of the league start poking fun at your head coaches shortcomings its not good. Especially with a overly sensitive owner

Melo goes to Dolan..."Hey Doles this guy Grunwald, what is he doing here? I'm running out of time. I ain't gettin any younger. Where's my ring(flashes index finger) Lebron has a ring. Why do I get stuck with Rasheed Wallace, Kurt Thomas and Jason Kidd as running mates?"

Nevermind the fact that he forced our hand in coming here from Denver stripping us of every asset and flexibility

Just when I was getting all geeked up for the season and then this. The timing makes no sense. Why would they do this NOW??? I just hate that we can't ever just be like a normal franchise.

knicks win 38-43 games in 16-17. rose MUST shoot no more than 14 shots per game, defer to kp6 + melo, and have a usage rate of less than 25%

I don't think I'd go that far but this certainly doesn't seem good.

I thought he was doing the bidding of Dolan, so why would he be demoted? Perhaps the moves they're been making haven't really been directed by Dolan/Isiah as much as we thought or maybe this is a move away from Isiah and his cronies. Maybe Dolan is moving towards Mills to clear the way for Houston.

Allan Houston has proven nothing at all that tells us that he will be a good GM. Being a good guy and a good former player doesn't qualify him.

The mature thing to do IS to take the wait and see approach. We can huff and puff all we went but thats not going to change anything. Whether we like it or not, Steve Mills is back and all we can really do is hope that things will be different this time around.

I think Grunwald was quietly building a team as sensibly as he could. Not sure why he was let go or why a guy that was far from successful was brought back. I don't want to speculate about why it happened but I fear that it has to do with the Nets and their f u to the cap this year and throwing away of the future. I really hope the team isn't back to a flavor of the month gm that destroys the cap and franchise for the long term future. This move makes no sense from a business or basketball prospective.
