Really not a bad asset to have. The only problem I have is the 1st rounder. Oh well

the dude averaged 21pts per game 3 years ago....19pts per 2 years ago....last season he barely played and didn't fit the youth movement/coach....so he's a knick....if he can hit his career average of 15pts per, than this is a steal for us!!!

I agree. The first rounder still stings though

I bet they both start. Melo will be the 3 but really be playing 4 on offense. This is best case for Woodson as he can play Melo as a 4 on offense without getting beat up trying to defend big men a lot. Having a true stretch 4 was always the solution to the Melo at the 3 or 4 debate.

Thats exactly what Im hoping. Guess we'll get a better idea of what Woodsons thinking after the rest of the moves are pulled off.
Knicksfan: Hypocrite league that fines players after the game for flopping but in the game and with obvious flopping they call the fouls.

Everyone kicks our butts in trades. From the bulls to the nuggets and now to the crappy raptors.
Not this one. What did you think the Knicks would get for two guys that could be waived and a first rounder?
So you think we kicked butt in this trade lol. Let me tell you i have seen many raptor fans genuinely thank us for taking a guy they were gonna amnesty. They got 3 future picks for him. He is a former number 1 pick taht has never lived up to that, also his motor has come into question and his health is a major issue

He isn't coming to ny with the expectations that he is the franchise player. The guys is a good player and the Knicks gave up dirt for him. The raps have Fields and Novak on their new contracts. If you count the second rounders as big losses I disagree. This was a great move. Knicks were sending out their lottery pick and an unprotected pick in 2010 and people were less upset. Its funny how things change. Walsh was rumored to be looking into including the sixth pick with ZBO just to get out from under that contract.

I agree. There are only certain types of players that will work with Melo. You've got to have a stretch 4 who can score enough to draw his man away and allow Melo to play the 4 closer to the basket. People need to at least realize that Bargs is still capable of scoring 20 a night. It's not like he forgot how to shoot. We also can't worry about picks down the road at this point. We need to improve this team for RIGHT NOW!!!

Yes.....we aren't in build for the future mode....we are in win now while Melo is here mode. Bargnani's talent fits nice next to Melo and Chandler ith amare off the bench....I can totally see the Knicks now making a backcourt change...

this is very exciting

This looks bad IMO. I'd be OK with the Bargs - Novak, Camby swap because of the potential upside with Bargs but we shouldn't be giving up any picks (1st or 2nd round). Bargani's defensive #s are so bad that I think we should be getting a pick.

This is more than a role player. At best this is a 25 point 7-8 rebound scorer. What we need Andrea to do is focus on BOTH in and out. He really started to stay way to far out on the perimeter back from injury. He can score 20 again in a higher temp offense--thats a good player. To me this also end sJ R smith with Amare going to 6th man

as of this second I would be ok with keeping Chandler....Bargs, Melo, Chandler, Felton and Shump is pretty darn good if everyone plays the way they should....the Knicks are talking about point guards all up in Feltons face too....who knows maybe the knicks end up upgrading both spots this summer

True but the 2016 swap picks make it less of a crime. As we seen this year several team bought into the late 1st round. Supposedly he came back from his elbow injury and calf injury earlier than he should have. A change of scenery maybe good.

the bold: while i think he can score (past 2 years... hurt), his scoring went up the most once bosh left. he is now going to a team where we will have to see if what types of chances he gets. for rebounding, i wouldnt count on any more than what he has always done, very little.

GO TEAM VENTURE!!!!!

Raptors fans are lighting fire works right now, barg has been brutal shooting the ball and lives on the perimeter, doesn't rebound( a glaring weakness of ours) and is a suspect defender..This traded really could have waited until we figure out whats up with JR and Cope.

JR is going to demand to start is they want him for cheap, and I think he should, i like shump of the bench
