JR Smith's age at combine 18

Some of you guys are just being silly.

I guess the NFL should change their rules and let high schoolers enter the NFL draft. 3 years doesn't make a difference obviously........

I agree with you about the combine numbers but the highlights showed a great jumper and transition player. I didn't see great handle, he actually struggled on one of the first highlights on a fastbreak. I don't think Jr is the right comparison because JR had a much higher ceiling. I see THJ as a Wesley Matthews type with more handles.

A little more from Ford:

PHILADELPHIA 76ERS GRADE: C

Round 1: Nikola Vucevic (16)

Round 2: Lavoy Allen (50, obtained from New Orleans)

Analysis: The Sixers needed size and so they took the biggest guy on the board, but this was a case of drafting need over talent. I think better players were on the board, even if they weren't 7-footers. Vucevic will be solid in the NBA, but he's far from being a potential star.

Allen doesn't exactly get you excited after a lackluster four years at Temple.

WASHINGTON WIZARDS GRADE: A

Round 1: Jan Vesely (6), Chris Singleton (18, obtained from Atlanta)

Round 2: Shelvin Mack (34)

Analysis: This was a critical summer for the Wizards. Drafting John Wall last year was easy. This year, the challenge was to surround him with players who complement his talents. Mission accomplished.

Vesely was one of the most athletic forwards in the draft and should be great flying up and down the floor with Wall. Singleton is also a terrific athlete and the best defender in the draft. Factor in Mack as a solid backup guard at No. 34, and the Wizards came away more athletic and tougher. That's a great draft.

Like everyone he doesn't know it all. No one has the perfect draft formula.

NEW YORK KNICKS | GRADE: C

Round 1: Tim Hardaway Jr. (24)

Round 2: None

Analysis: The Knicks got name recognition on Thursday, but unfortunately, Hardaway Jr. is no Hardaway Sr.

Hardaway Jr. does have great size for his position and he's a good shooter, but his game is pretty forgettable, as three years at Michigan demonstrated. He was able to win over coaches and teams with his professionalism and work ethic in workouts. But I'm not sure that his talent allows him to have a ceiling any higher than rotation player.

If THJr becomes a solid rotation player I would be very happy with this pick. Right now I am in a wait and see mode.

I think he will be a solid rotation player. Anything above that is gravy but I do think for the 24th pick in the draft it was a solid pick.
