"I get suspended for a phone hang-up and people just get away with anything in his league," said Rajon Rondo, who was suspended one-game for allegedly bumping official Rodney Mott on Saturday in Atlanta and being "unresponsive" to a league inquiry on Monday. "Oh, my goodness, so that's the same thing huh? The rep I've earned, I'll have to deal with it."

Coach Doc Rivers had a different take on the Anthony suspension.

"I don't believe guys should ever be suspended," Rivers said. "It's not a surprise. [Teams] get in trouble for sitting players and then you suspend players; it's the same thing. If you're a fan, you're not happy with that."

rondo didn't get suspended for "a phone hang up" he got suspended for bumping a ref...

Doc feels players should never be suspened..fine, that is his opinion...so great, this is good to know.. so the next time we play them and KT takes garnetts knees out for the season, I expect doc to stand up and defend any knick who takes out KG if that ever happens.. and tell stu, players should never be suspended, it is not fair to the fans....

Even the league stated he failed to cooperate with the investigation, thus leading to the suspension.

The only reason why the investigation commenced is because another coach reported it, otherwise nothing would have happened.

I think it was the GM danny ferry.. but he couldn't present evidence that wasn't there.. right? in other words, he couldn't present a tape to the league that rondo pulled his pants down and told the fans to kiss his azz if it didn't happen....

and for the record... ferry was fined 15k I think for approaching the refs with the tape afer the game....

You really like to exaggerate. The suspension came from not cooperating.

We dont have a hard time grasping anything. We're fans. Supportive and understanding. We like and appreciate Carmelo (who wouldnt?) and we feel like he was given a raw deal --- but thats besides the point here.

Knick fans cant even celebrate his MVP caliber season, without weirdos running up in the thread dismissing his accomplishments in an effort to antagonize. Fine, you dont like the man and you cant appreciate his play and leadership, which has given us the best basketball we've seen in over a decade; thats cool, but why does that have to be our problem?

Of course something like this pops up, and its an excuse for you to ridicule the man's intelligence, honor, maturity, manhood, his wife and family, whatever...nobody wants to read that trash. Im disappointed. You were someone I enjoyed talking b-ball with back in the day, but you've completely regressed into this immature, internet loser boy. Is what it is I guess.

I love Melo and this team is going no where without him but he is not ahead of Lebron, Durant & Paul in the mvp discussion

Agreed, but sentiment carries in MVP races. Lebron can win it every year --- hes that good, and when there's a transcendent talent like that voters often choose to spread it around when others have a great year, but not as great as a Gretsky/Jordan/Lebron, etc. Durant plays with a killer supporting cast, which hurts him. I think Paul is going to win it by resurrecting a dead franchise, which is similar in vain to Melo and why he would have a good chance to win, but Paul and the Clips are having better years so far. Melo's still got a chance tho, but the knicks have stumbled a lil.

A "no comment" by doc woulda showed class but everyone in that org. is a pos, in my book. I had a lot of respect for kg when he was with the wolves, but since he went to the cs his whole karma changed.Like someone said before his karma will be upset in the future and he will get his just punishment. Not sure what to discuss here.
Melo is acting like a little kid in kindergarten.
KG knows the NBA and how many overgrown children are running and gunning.
Nobody saw him pulling this tricks on real man of NBA. Just does not make sense.
It is time for Melo to grow as a man and a person.
And this lesson can help a lot together with good advise from guys like Kid and Kurt.
He just need to listen.

Papabear Says

Yes Melo can learn from Kid. They can go out for a few drinks and crash a car and that will make Melo a man. Well what makes Garnett a man? Yes Melo can get mad if he wants to. and he can get mad all the way to the bank you see Melo still got his money and from what I understand he is a pretty good business man. So those who don't like Melo go root for another team because Melo is the Man in New York and will be here for a few years. He may retire a Knick and then they will retire his jersey. Then TKF can really hate then . Yes Mele one day will have his jersey retired as a Knick.

Yeah, TKF definitely out there. Cant call it. I dunno, tho I can respect the celts and their fans for sticking together. Its like a family. Ride or die. Wish we had the same spirit around here.

funny you say that.... you want to support him regardless of how wrong he is and you are considered "supportive fans" yet we have way to emotional fans who are upset with KG's coach for supporting his own player... sebstar, some of you are just not objective here, emotions are ruling the thoughts.. that is fine, but at least admit it...

Celtics guard Rajon Rondo was suspended for one game without pay on Monday for “making contact with a game official” during Sunday’s game against the Hawks in Atlanta. Rondo was also suspended, according to the NBA, because he “failed to cooperate with a league investigation.”

how am I exaggerating.. I am sure not cooperating didn't help his cause, but he was suspended for bumping a ref.. there is no investigation had he not bumped the ref!!

And whats the point in that guns? Sit with your arms folded, trashing the team every step of the way until they win a chip? Man, NY'ers act so damn entitled.

Theres a story I want to share. There is an old college mentor whom I became friends with and talk to regularly. Anyway, hes a huge San Fran Giants fan --- all the way back from when he was a kid and they were in NY. Well, he was bitter as hell because of all their disappointments, bad trades, playoff losses, etc. In 2010, as they were making their run, he would tell me there is no way they were gunna win the division title or make the playoffs. Then he said there was no way they were gunna beat the braves in the division series. Then he said they wouldnt beat the phillies in the pennant. Then he was sure they would lose to the Rangers in the WS.

When they finally won, and we spoke that night, he was sobbing incessantly. He told me that he couldnt shake the regret of not believing in his team, and enjoying such a magical season and ride. He was so pent up with animosity he let the season pass him by emotionally --- even tho he watched most if not all the games. Even when they won it again last year, and he enjoyed that season, he still carries regret because he didnt appreciate the first championship he ever witnessed.

Something to think about.

oh trust me I will enjoy it and probably sob with joy. I'm enjoying the heck out of this season just pissed that we lost to Boston and now Indiana and are slipping of late. It's all about this year for me. We might lose JR and the older guys in the off season. How we replace a guy like JR with no cap flexibility and only the $3mil LLE I don't know. This year is our best chance in the Melo/Amare(half amare) era

I dont know what the hell you want me to do here bro. This is a knicks site, if you havent noticed. This is pointless. KG was talking about the mans wife, while they are in the midst of what is obviously a painful separation --- and it got to him. Was his reaction ideal? No, but its human and understandable.

Of course you cant appreciate Melo's anger here, because doing so wont allow you to pursue you bile-laden agenda against Melo. Dont lecture anyone about "objectivity", you are the most subjectively influenced person Ive ever seen 'round here. Its all unseemly agenda with you. Even Reggie Miller understood Melo --- Reggie, Mr. Anti knick. He can at least understand the human element at work.

Thats was so disturbing. You clearly dont look at Melo as a human being. I am sure....100% positive that you would be happy to see something truly awful happen to the man. The seething hatred leaps from your text and posts. I dont like it at all. As a melo fan, and as a human. You've gone off the deep end.

Im not mad at KG at all. He took the knicks to school when it comes to psychological warfare. I dont like it, but I respect it. That said, I'm confident Melo will respond. He slipped, but we all have our moments. Hes tough as sht, and when hes not playing the clips, heat, or the thunder hes the best player on the floor.

I don't think it is possible to replace the JR Smith of this year with the Mini MLE
It is possible to replace some of what JR Smith bring's prior to this year though or with the Mini-MLE 3m and our 2 draft picks, 1st rounder and 2nd rounder from King's that we got for Nate Robinson to Celtic's

If we cannot resign JR Smith because he can get a much better deal elsewhere, which we cannot blame if so, our best chances are for Iman to grow/develop under the guidance of Kidd/Hopla/Woodson in to what he bring's for us this year

If JR Smith does resign because he really want's to be in NY while he can get a much better deal elsewhere which he should if he continues with his play and depending on how he produces with the team in the post season, he would be backing up his words about loyalty and taking a pay cut in reference to his comment's on Lin last summer to Houston
I think our best chances of resigning Smith would be if Grunweld offered a a 3-5 year deal with a player option after the first year, in which we would gain his full bird rights vs early bird rights and be able to resign him for a greater amount

He should easily have team's interested for his services at 8m+ per year with his improvements he has made this year starting with DEF, penetration/ball handling, ability to create for others, and his ability to score and shoot which he always had with a teams that should have cap room like

Suns *with the money that they were going to spend on Eric Gordon at a max contract, I think they are would be very likely to have interest in Smith and JR's skills would fit in nicely with their young core and help Dragic as the 2ndary ball handler, DEF, ability to create for himself and the team, and of course his ability to spread the floor at starting SG* They play in similar tempo's and this year they are also missing Channing Frye's ability to spread the floor with Nash's smart's

Pacers
Dallas
Utah
Bucks
Atlanta
Houston *unlikely with his comment's towards Lin*

Cleveland
Hornets
Toronto
Bobcats
Kings

Basically. From the team standpoint I wish Melo kept his cool. We obviously need him on the floor. But from a personal standpoint, someone needs to give KG a shot to the jaw. The extended suspension would have sucked, but I would have loved that video long beyond this season.
