U missed 6 rebounds, 5 assist, 4 steals, 1 block, and decent defense...

and that was "awesome"... ok, so please tell me what was jason richardson... who not only shot well, almost 50%, but had 7 boards,6 dimes, 2 steals and a block as well?

again, this is the typical, melo stunk up the joint so let me get with the " he did other things so well" hype machine...

This is preseason...This is about the Knicks going forward...Ill take those numbers from Melo every night and be very happy of the effort across the board...When was the last time u saw Melo with 4 steal and 5 assist in the same game and I posted that in the 3rd qt before jumping to the debate..

If Amare is healthy and I pray he is...If the Knicks are to make the next step, that's the way Melo has to play...I really didn't see the 4th but for three quarters he was making all around plays...Putting into action what he said in those preseason interviews...

whether you believe melo played a good or bad game, the concern I have is that this team becomes stagnant in the halfcourt. I thought the addition of two PGs would help create easy offense. I also thought, a creative half court offense would be installed to get players easy shots. Instead knicks had to rely on melo as the playmaker. It looked alot like the knicks vs miami. Isolation plays for melo, hope that he kicks it out to perimeter players that will make shots. If Novak has a better shooting night, knicks win. This also illustrates how badly this team needs JR since Stat is out. We simply DONT have alot of offensive firepower. If our defense was better, you could get away with it..but its not
Knicks should be improved: win about 40 games and maybe sneak into the playoffs. Melo, Rose and even Noah will have some nice moments however this team should be about PORZINGUS. the sooner they make him the primary player, the better

I was at the game and Novak wasn't hitting anything. He appeared to become hesitant as the game went on because he was missing so much. If he hit one or two shots the outcome may have been different. The crowd was very into the game and the Knicks.

Remember when a poster said Novak "isn't that good" I think it was TKF

Let's see what Mr. I've been working on getting my own offense 2pt shots has been doing

Thus far in the pre-season

Steve Novak has attempted

Game 5 2-10 but 9 of them were 3pt shots
Game 4 5-9 but 9 of them were 3pt shots
Game 3 2-6 but 6 of them were 3pt shots
Game 2 4-11 but 6 of them were 3pt shots
Game 1 7-8 but 7 of them were 3pt shots

He's taken 44FGA and 37 of them have been 3s

Now he's shooting a mediocre percentage....... this is the definition of "not that good" because of how 1 dimensional he is. He's a liability on D. This is why I want every single player on our team to stop talking about what they've been working on in the off-season. I don't want to hear it, I want to see it.

Shut Up!

We gave him 4yrs $16mil guaranteed my oh my oh my oh my

How much was that a function of people staying close to him versus him being cold...Has he proved to can hit that shot with a defender on him??

- Ray looked great hitting five 3pters
- Defense stepped it up in the 2nd half
- Copeland again played very well on offense AND defense
- Prigoni is a nice passer but an even better defender who gets a lot of steals

Bad
- Melo forced a lot of 3pters trying to play "hero ball". SMH. He needs to STOP shooting and take it to the hole
- Novak had some nice 2 dribble moves who was off tonight
- Kidd looks half asleep and done
- Kurt is a thug; simply good for 6 fouls and thats it
- Brewer cant shoot or play offense (we knew that) but his defense wasnt that good. If he doesnt offer defense then he offers nothing
- Team defense and def rebounding played horribly. Once again, gave up TOO many wide open threes. Jason richardson and nick young are good but not THAT good
- Worst of all - this team without STAT looked stagnant (like it did last yr). Melo must learn to kick out the ball when double-teamed

The Knicks really needed Cope, Melo and Ray tonight because no one else could do anything on offense. Melo is really hard for other teams to handle and the Knicks had nothing on offense tonight. I agree about Kidd. He was really slow and aside from the one three pointer he hit, he didn't contribute much. He had two bad turnovers where he tried to lob a pass over Melo's man to Melo. He did the same thing twice and for such a cerebral player whose physical abilities are compromised, it was frustrating. Kurt sets bone crunching screens. He got called for a moving screen but everyone in the Dome could here the sound made when the contact occured. He also still hits the open jumper. Pablo is really good. I think the knock on him was that he is slow. I didn't see it and he certainly was a lot faster then Kidd tonight. Brewer didn't belong on the court. I don't think he is recovered. He looked slow, heavy, and couldn't jump. He obviously is a gutsy guy but I don't think he is ready to be on the court. I think James White is going to be a good rotation player.

He had some open looks. His shot just wasn't falling for him. He also took a couple shots off the dribble. It looks like it could be a nice addition to his game but again they weren't falling. The Knicks played really good d in the second half and Novak had some opportunities where if his shot went down the momentum swing would have been huge. Hopefully it was just a bad night. He got pulled for Copeland when the Knicks had Ray, Melo and Tyson in and the game was still not decided.

No, Melo sucks. It doesn't matter what he does, he sucks, he stinks up the joint, he's a cancerous boil on the NBA's azz.

We'd be better off with Joe Johnson or JRich or even Jamal Crawfulford. Did you see Jamal's highlight pass the other night???

No, based on this preseason game alone, I believe firmly that the franchise will close down, Dolan will die of a massive embolism, and a players league will form in Lebanon. The entire NBA is done for.

It's the end of the world, fellas.

In 1998, the Yankees underwhelmed during preseason and got swept by Anaheim (I believe) during the first series and everyone flipped out... then they went on set the then MLB record for wins. I'm not suggesting the Knicks will beat the Bulls record, but winning and losing in the preseason matters very little. You work on stuff in the preseason--that's the focus or should be, anyway.

You are taking pre-season way too seriously. We will see how thing pan out during the season when real rotations are used and there is actually something at stake.

sure.. but this was THE YEAR. The coach was flying around talking to guys, having personal workouts, getting the team all on one page, all that. Veteran players who know how to win... you know the drill. We look old, uninteresting and like a team that go as far as Melo's shooting will take us, which history shows us is not very far. I know many folks are excited about his 4 steals or 4 assists but the dude shot like 7-21 or some such crap. Yipee.

Im sure it will all turnaround by the start of the season. Isnt that when the Knicks usually kick it in gear?

Its bad when Im tired of my own sarcasm.

Its like management did everything to rebuild that one Melo Nugs team that went to the conference finals.

Oh joy.
