uh, yeah, and the way the knicks treated lin isn't disgraceful at all.
Lin was just as much of a dik for renegotiating a second time with Houston.
there is literally zero evidence that lin initiated the second round of negotiations. for all you know, and the far more likely scenario, is that houston saw all the reports that the knicks were pleased with the offer and would definitely match and decided they needed to take a different approach.
houston OFFERED him more money.
again, this idea that he's supposed to turn down money is absurd. when have you ever done that in your entire life? i haven't.
Many believe that Lin was directly involved in this secret (re)negotiation/rendezvous
I think you are viewing this completely one sided
You are assuming many things but not this?
here's how a negotiation goes when a team doesn't want to give you $15M in the third season of a contract.
for instance, let's take Novak and the Knicks.
Knicks: "we're offering you 4yr $15M."
Novak: "what about $15M in the 3rd season?"
Knicks: "LOL"
the idea that Lin could "trick" the Rockets into giving him $15M in the third season is kind of insane.
go into your job tomorrow and ask for $15M. i guarantee that if your job doesn't think you're worht it they won't give it to you. but hey, you never know, maybe you'll be "directly involved" in the discussion and your job will have no choice but to offer you $15M.
does that sound ridiculous yet? houston had pretty much full control of what they offered Lin. they made the offer because they didn't want the knicks to match because they were desperate and had no other point guards.
