Im no gm.. This is getting annoying. Im sure if they dont do this now or comment on it, deadline it happens. Wallace,Blopez, Brooks and fillers can be done. Im no expert but if he wants that it will happen. If not i guess like people on the board have been saying, hes bluffing and isnt holding a good hand. Im just waiting for the season to start.

The Dwightmare should be over by the end of today:

Nets to 'resolve' Dwight Howard bid
By Ric Bucher
ESPN The Magazine

General manager Billy King is meeting with the agent for center Brook Lopez in Los Angeles on Wednesday, sources said, and it is expected that he will either sign Lopez with the intent on dealing him to the Orlando Magic for Howard or sign Lopez with the idea of keeping him and moving forward without Howard.
The Nets are convinced the chance of making a deal for Howard will be undermined as teams sign free agents and eliminate their flexibility to be trade partners in providing the draft picks, salary-cap room and young talent the Magic are seeking for their disgruntled All-Star center.
Lopez's agent is pushing the Nets to either sign Lopez themselves or do a sign-and-trade by the end of the day, sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford. The Nets are fearful that Lopez will receive an offer sheet from another team if they don't act by the end of the day, which would kill the opportunity to move him in a sign-and-trade for Howard.
There are rising fears within the Nets, sources told ESPN.com's Marc Stein, that the Portland Trail Blazers will come after Lopez -- a restricted free agent -- as their next frontcourt target after a bid to sign fellow restricted free agent Roy Hibbert away from Indiana has been foiled by the Pacers, who have matched the four-year offer to Hibbert worth nearly $60 million that Portland had intended to offer but ultimately decided against.
On Tuesday night, the Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers rejoined the Nets as the most serious potential trade partners with the Magic on a Howard deal, sources close to the process told Stein.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets are discussing a multitude of trade scenarios with the Magic, offering to serve both as the team that would acquire Howard in a direct trade between the clubs and also as a third team that would participate in a trade that lands Howard with the Lakers and brings All-Star center Andrew Bynum to Houston.
Sources say that new Magic general manager Rob Hennigan might feel more comfortable taking back a package of youngsters, recent draftees and future first-round draft picks -- while shedding some long-term salary as well -- than taking on Bynum as Howard's replacement and facing a similar challenge in convincing him to commit to the franchise long-term like the Magic have dealt with for months with Howard.

The Nets have been working feverishly all month to finally acquire Howard to pair with returning All-Star guard Deron Williams and incoming All-Star guard Joe Johnson, but they need other teams to help complete the deal.
Sources told ESPN.com on Monday the Nets and Magic were cautiously optimistic the Cavaliers and Clippers would sign off on a four-team blockbuster that would have sent Howard to Brooklyn. But sources said that the complexities involved in that trade, which required free agents such as Lopez and Kris Humphries to agree to be signed and traded to make it work, appear to have led to its collapse.
Another factor, sources say, is Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert's reluctance to sign off on a trade that would surely set up the Cavaliers for heavy criticism for their role in helping the Nets assemble the NBA's latest star-laden lineup to compete with the Miami Heat, Oklahoma City Thunder and Lakers.
ESPN.com senior writer Marc Stein and ESPNNewYork.com's Mike Mazzeo contributed to this report.

Basically it's either keep Bropez or deal him for Howard by end of the day.

Well, well, well look who comes crawling back. The Nets have all the leverage now and should either use it to the full or tell Orlando to get lost because they are signing their own center today. It would be great to see their gm stew and get heckled all season while hump is averaging double doubles and lopez is scoring 20ppg + 7rpg for the Nets.

Yeah, I'm sure that Otown GM will be getting heckled watching Bropez in the 40 or so games he won't be on the DL for. While the Nyets struggle to get chemistry and hope and pray to keep any of their "big little three" on the court for any length of time. Welcome back to 34-win land Brooklyn! But don't worry, Shoeless Joe Johnson is going to win you a chip!

What I dont get is why Lopez and Hump still havent looked for contracts elsewhere. Why are they doing whats best for an organazatio that is trying to trade them. Go sign an offer sheet. Waiting around till others team make plays for other FA's is stupid and will give the nETS all the negotiating power

Magic Suspend Howard Trade Talks To Find Head Coach
Jul 11, 2012 3:44 PM EDT

The Magic have suspended Dwight Howard trade talks as they search for their next head coach, according to sources.

Orlando had been engaged in trade talks with the Nets, Lakers and Rockets on a trade involving Howard.

Rob Hennigan informed Howard that the Magic attempted to make a deal, but none of the offers met the team's asking price.

Brian Shaw and Mike Malone are amongst the candidates to become the next head coach of Orlando.

So this means that the Nyets HAVE to move on and max out BrokeFoot Lopez @ 5 years, $78M? Go ahead, Nyets, make your "splash" with Lopez and Stackhouse today. LMAO!!

That would officially take them out of the Dwight trade scenario. Dwight would be unable to sign with them as a free agent for any more than the MMLE. If Dwight wants Brooklyn THAT bad, let him go ahead and do it. In fact, let's see how many teams he will be able to sign a MAX deal with in the 2013 offseason.

Considering that he wants the money, then he will just have to STFU and re-up with whatever team Orlando eventually trades him to.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

The Nets will be better for sure but they have 3 of the worst contracts in the NBA on there team. Lopez as a max deal is just flat out awful. Joe Johnson is Allan Houston, Gerald Wallace is a MLE player getting 10 million. They will be competitive for sure . they dont have the frontcourt players to beat Miami though. Without someone to protect the rim u have no shot of beating them. Still way better off then they were

If deal with Nets falls through I could see the Rockets making the deal with the Lakers & Magic, with the Knicks being the 4th team.

The Nets lost all their leverage once they gobbled up their own cap room. Once you do that and the threat to ever sign Dwight is gone... it's just not gonna happen with that inferior package they were offering.

Trading Dwight who averages 14rebs for Brook who averages 3rebs is insanity.

Dwight is such a back and forth BABY - the magic should NOT trade him. See if he's willing to go somewhere else for less money as a free agent. What teams are even gonna have cap room next summer?

This isn't like 2010 when the Bulls, Knicks, Heat all made cap room for two max deals. There aren't teams lining for Dwight in 2013 in big markets. Lakers, Clippers, Heat, Bulls, Celtics, Knicks AND Nets are ALL capped out.

Dwight needs to sit down and STFU now.

Nets end Dwight Howard talks
Updated: July 11, 2012, 4:00 PM ET
By Ric Bucher | ESPN The Magazine

A potential trade of Dwight Howard to the Brooklyn Nets is dead after a last-gasp attempt to work a trade fell through Wednesday afternoon, a source familiar with the negotiations said.

SportsNation: Dwight Howard's Destinations?
The list of potential trade destinations for Dwight Howard keeps growing. Would he be better as a Net, Laker, or Rocket?
• Comment and vote!

Sources said earlier Wednesday that the Nets had decided to "resolve" their situation with Howard by 6 p.m. ET on Wednesday. That inspired renewed talks, in which the Nets offered four future first-round picks, center Brook Lopez and power forward Kris Humphries in sign-and-trade deals, the source said. The offer was rejected by the Magic.

"We've moved on. It just got to a point where we couldn't keep going back and forth with Orlando. They had about 14 days to do something and didn't. We just had to move on, and we felt that way this morning," a Nets source told ESPNNewYork.com's Ian O'Connor.

General manager Billy King is meeting with the agent for Lopez in Los Angeles on Wednesday, sources said, and it was expected that he would either sign Lopez with the intent on dealing him to the Orlando Magic for Howard or sign Lopez with the idea of keeping him and moving forward without Howard.

The Nets were convinced the chance of making a deal for Howard would be undermined as teams sign free agents and eliminate their flexibility to be trade partners in providing the draft picks, salary-cap room and young talent the Magic are seeking for their disgruntled All-Star center.

Lopez's agent has been pushing the Nets to either sign Lopez themselves or do a sign-and-trade by the end of the day, sources told ESPN.com's Chad Ford.

One source close to the process told ESPN.com that the Trail Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats have informed Lopezs camp that they are prepared to sign him to four-year max offer sheets.

So much for all of that talk. Let Dwight the Doofus hitch-hike his way out of Orlando after next season. Most likely, Orlando will ship him off to the highest bidder.

...and so much for all of that alleged "leverage" that Dwight AND the Nets were rumored to have, too.

This is what that big oaf of a crybaby gets for being so silly and indecisive, to the point here he destroyed that franchise. Orlando should (and apparently is) get(ting) gangster with him and those irksome Nyets.

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Good. Im glad. Dwight Howard has a bad back and relies strickly on athleticism. Bad combination if you ask me. Lopez's offensive game is already more polished. Humphries averages a double double and MarShon Brooks average 18ppg and was all rookie second team last year. This trade was a good one for Orlando and they blew it. Also, Dwight seems to be a bit of a headcase. The Nets made out better in the long term. I think this team can compete with the Heat in 2013-2014.
