Clearly, you've never read Dave Berri's book. In it, he proves that teams can't win a championship if their best players are over 30. That's why with Melo, 28, Tyson, 29, and Amare, 29, we only have a two year window. The Lakers have Kobe, 34, Gasol, 32, and Nash 38 so they obviously can't win a championship next year.
Wow, snit alert
I just find it funny that you, and several others, keep saying that we have only a two year window based on the ages of Melo, Amare, and Tyson. But now, a much older Lakers team trades for 38 year old Nash and they're title contenders.
Exactly brilliant point. Ahhh the mystical fan/media created "3yr window" dont just look at lakers. Look at Boston & SA. Now Bonn is gonna say Melo is fat
I pick on Melo and Amare because they need to be held to the standards of NBA stars. For someone who wants to be considered a superstar, Melo's conditioning as a Knick has sucked. He probably had a higher % body fat than at least 95% of the players making 8 digit salaries. For just an ordinary American, his conditioning is excellent obviously. He's clearly not a fat adult American but he's a fat NBA player.
Didn't Melo just lose 12 pounds though, and is training for the London Olympics as we speak?
That doesn't excuse the last two years. And I'll believe it when I see it anyway. 90% of the time players talk about losing weight, it's bogus.
