Worst part is Nets get Howard and I am forced to keep my word and join ultimatenets.com

If they don't then I'm not worried. They will be a 5-8 seed

5th seed? Thats not bad from where we sit.

we SHOULD finish higher! But Should is a big word in KnickLand!

Im not a Dwight fan, but i was not really a Melo fan either!

Im trying!

If Lebron can grow up, so can Dwight. Brooklyn got a team. I can't ignore it. Don't mean I gotta change my colors now, but I can't ignore them.

And i can't ignore them, then might be open.

Who knows?

Even without Dwight, they have some crazy Guards and G/Fs.
Joe Johnson finally plays back with some legit talent and I think Deron/Joe Johnson will do very well together, if healthy.
Their weakest part would be Center but they have players that are young and fit.
All are 3point threats, all can penetrate, all can shoot of the dribble, both guards can pass, and both can post up as well.

We didn't need Melo, he wasn't part of the plan, we took many steps backwards, and we are lucky to be in the position we even are in today.
Talent does have to mesh, that is our biggest problem.
We could have been a very cohesive unit, young team with heart, and I do not understand why people don't understand that.
We picked up many assets along the way and Donnie just needed the summer to finish his work, but Dolan had to butt in.

18-6 is more indicative of what the Knicks are under Woodson. Not the record the past 4yrs or the .470 overall winning percentage with Melo

1) Heat *Jesus with All Star treatment, they continue to add great role players, not finished, even Justin Hamilton could be big for them*

2) Nets *If they add Dwight Howard, it would be sick*

3) Bulls *Rose's injury doesn't even look nearly as bad as Imans, but Jeff Teague is a nice substitute for the time being with 1 more year of John Lucas 3rd. I think Omar Osik is worth that money, Gibson and Omar are sick together. Amnesty Boozer, in the future, with Gibson taking over his spot.

4) Boston *one year older but have added some nice young pieces and depends on Jeff Green's health*

5) Bucks *looks like they resign Ilyasova, they are deadly if so*

6) Washington *I think they added some nice pieces, with Ariza, Ok4, and Beal, they were MUCH better after adding Nene and playing Serephan late last year.

7) Knicks Let's see how we fill out our roster....

8) Pacers I don't think George Hill is a legit starting PG, not a facilitator. Collison is their best PG, George Hill is a great 6th man. If they don't match Hibbert, I expect them to go after Kaman with possibly Philly.

9) Philly *depending on who they acquire*

10) Toronto adding Lowry for a bag of chips and if they add their Euro Big man, would be interesting team with good depth.

11) Cavs *don't discount them out, Varajo was out for them basically the entire year, and they added some nice pieces as well, with cap room, Hump could be solid*

These are 10-11 legit teams that will be fighting for the higher seed, that we cannot predict, but I think they all have a legit shot to give us a good fight...
I think even Bobcats could be much improved but I think they are looking to tank another year or 2, to collect assets/ping pong balls.
Next year's draft is suppose to be deep with centers, so they would be looking for one next to compliment Biyombo.
I thought Drummond would have been a great fit with Biyombo...

Washington ahead of the Knicks? Bucks ahead of the Knicks? oh, RonRon.

also, Dwight is out for half the season if the trade goes through. Nets will have a pretty thin frontcourt til he's healthy. be hard to get the second seed with no frontcourt.

I have to think we are a top 4 in the East.

Otherwise how can I go on?

All these teams improved much this off season, while we have problems retaining our own players.
Iman being out and will not be in shape till much later, he is a very crucial part of our defense.

It is fair to say these teams can range and will be contending for a spot throughout the season.
I think we can be at best 4th seed to and be similar to the same result we had last season.

Lineups aren't set yet, our players are not staying here for sure *JR, Novak, and Jeffries*
I don't think we can take these teams lightly with their improvement this off season and another year under their belts.

Washington does have a much better team but to what degree we don't know.

Philly might take a step back, and Indy has hit its ceiling (a good team though). ATL is reloading and likley a step back.

Nets with Howard will take time to come together, Bucks much improved? Sam Dalembert? Illoysova is being bought back. Should be a lower seed.

Orlando reboots and drops out of playoff contention Cut Cavs will be better. With ATL and ORL rebooting it opens up things in that division.

Boston is getting some youth but Sullinger (the new big baby?) and Fab Melo still have to get off the bench and prove themselves.

Way to early to start ranking.

Were is Novak and JR in the picture? Gotta have their signitures before we start ranking. How does Lin really blend in with Melo? How motivated is Amare?

Amare had a hell of a game with his cut hand! Dude when needs to step up does have the big block shot or rebound at times.

Dan Gilbert- I hate Super Teams bad for the NBA, Brooklyn let me help u make a Super team. These owners cried about competitive balance yet are more then willing to help create a team they wont beat. Why was there a lockout? Why isnt any of these teams stepping in and offering a contract to Hump and Lopez like Raptors did with Fields. Seriously telling me none of these teams can use Lopez or Hump. Havent heard a peep about teams wanting them.

It's remarkable that the two posters you give the hardest time here are the only two who actually correctly predicted the Knicks' win total last year.

It's actually more bizarre that you equate win/loss predictions with posts that have little to nothing to do with that topic.

Would you feel better if I mentioned Gallohate and the NugNyets again?

The post had nothing to do with winning and losing? And nothing to do with having accurate perceptions of the team? Then what was it about?

I was making a point about Nalod's stated possible split devotion between the Knicks and Nyets.

You are a fan of masochism, right?

First, its too freaking early to say anything when many of the rumored deals haven't happened (how many "imminent deals haven't happened before in the NBA, huh?).

Second, its so evident you are more interested in feeding your pessimism with any sign of bad weather for NY (Nets at #2 with Dwight as WHO CARES ABOUT CHEMISTRY?; Rose's injury worse than Iman, and how's so MD?; Bucks resign Ilyasova and suddenly are better than us?; Washington... How?; and while we are at it, how are we better than the Pacers?)

That is some seriously messed up panorama, but if it makes you sleep better at night knowing your beloved team has such an uninspiring future, suit yourself.

Which is a consequence of the Knicks' lack of winning. Do you see the connection now?
