Just for the record, Panos. Ballz humbly in both hands.

With Shump and Bill Walker out, tonight in Miami is a great opportunity for JR Smith to make his presence felt by defending DWade.

Stay tuned.

The backwards dunk was beyond words.

When JR was smacked to the floor he kept composed. The old JR would have started a riot.

What an amazing talent we have.

I still can't believe we got JR, who's basically a starter, as our sixth man. Good times await...

I think JR just grew up a little. He was really young when he came into the league. The same thing happened with Randolph. they realized that their bad rep was hurting them, so they matured and changed their ways.

I didnt really see the point in the signing. My preference was to let Fields and Shump exclusively play the 2.

JRs been great here

He's got a good role and is good to have. My worry was the depth and his excessive shot selection(which will be remained to be seen) Both Novak and Smith are explosive types off the bench and along with Shumpert gives the team a more athletic presence.

Jr didnt hit a 3 last night but was really a nice presence during that sick run by the 2nd unit. He's been ok m2m defense, but great on help and getting in passing lanes. Its great having him and Novak... seems one of the them goes off every game. Quite the nice set of weapons to have. Man this enjoyable

Remained to be seen... or in plain view for all to see?

Since he arrived in New York, JR Smith's shot selection has been selective, humble, and downright adorable. He has been a willing passer in the offensive flow and kept the ball moving. His defensive effort has been outstanding. At 6'6, he is matched against opponents three's and has been fearless against taller dudes.

The crowd in The Garden loves Smith's energy and he loves them back.

I have to agree with you misterearl. I have been pleasantly surprised by his shot selection. It isn't great but he is a bit like Melo in that he can hit what looks like hard shots. That said, I do hope he gets a bit better with shot selection.

Hopefully he continues his good play. I didn't know he was 6'6", nice to have that size out there.

Don't let his peanut head fool you. JR is 6'6 and 220 pounds of tightly wound muscle.

If he keeps his mind right, there is no telling how many times JR will move the crowd.

Bear in mind, Smith has had ONE practice with this team. One. What happens when they learn one another?

The best part? It's great to have a veteran presence like Baron Davis, Tyson Chandler or Amar'e Stoudemire to remind him of what it means to be a champion, or play on Broadway.

This is not a different Smith it is what he has been doing for years now. He is maturing like most people as they get older but he is playing the same way. Just wait till he knows the offense and start being the secondary PnR ball handler with the second unit Like Fields do sometimes with the first. He is not even playing up to his abilities yet. like I said before he gives you the best of Shumpert, Walker, and Bibby all rolled into one. He has Shumpert athletic ability( maybe more), the size of Walker, and the shooting skills of Bibby. Add on to that is that he has unlimited range when he gets it going and can make different kinds of shots every where on the floor plus his D is very underrated.

yea I would say thats a pretty good writeup. I would give Shump the edge defensively for sure though

BEING WANTED. You can't understate how important it is to feel WANTED and VALUED by your team, coach and the fans. He has all 3 and I don't think he's dumb so, I expect nothing but good things.

I think much of his issue comes from LOOKING LIKE STEPH.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

it's funny to see posters regurgitate the same exact statements I made 1-2 months ago, yet only jrodmc has openly admitted how prophetic my words were

-Karl vendetta against Smith
-Smith obedience on team with veteran presence
-complete offensive skillset (Kobelite)
-AS potential
-ability to get off his own shot at any time
-elite shooter (he has yet to heat up)
-pnr player with ability to dish
-underrated defender (better than Fields)
etc

maybe we just didn't remember them amongst all the other posts....nothing personal about it though.

I read a couple of mentions of Karl having a vendetta and I remember some of his statements to the media and thought at the time "what a dik." Didn't he pull the same crap with Ray Allen and a few others when he was in Milwaukee?

Also, wasn't he like the closer for Denver, with Melo killing for the 1st 3 and allowing him to go nutz in the 4th?

No, Melo was still definitely our closer. JR was our 6th man. But when he caught fire behind the arc, he won games singlehandedly, kinda like Novak is doing right now.
