i know everyone rags on jeffries, but this is why he's a valuable player. sure he's a horrible offensive player but he can get garbage points around the rim and the guy is a very good defensive player.

What was Nelson thinking? He has Chandler drawn out on the perimeter and Dwight working on JJ...and he cuts to the paint so Tyson can double? I'll take it though...

totally agree. not only that, but he really seems to fit in on the floor with the other guys. he's probably also the most tenured knick on the team.

and he just drew more free throws. nice game by JJ

When he got here, everyone expected it to be like bringing in Ron Artest with superstar man-to-man defense. JJ is just a guy that can really buy into team defense, and does it well. Tyson, Iman, JJ make for a strong defensive lineup.

Fields plays good team defense when the rest of the team buys in.

definitely agree with you about him and the chemistry with the other players - especially amar'e, melo and chandler, they always seem to be listening to him and talking with him.

like the way the team is playing today. magic have hit some easy wide open 3s, but otherwise this has been a quality showing by the knicks.

btw - the other thing i like abuot jeffries is that he seems to know his limitation and never tries to do too much. he's left wide open alot of times and opts to pass the ball instead of shoot it. he seems to just give his all defensively and let the other guys do their thing offensively. need those kinda role players on a good team. now we just need the PG.
