![]() The big question with BDiddy is when will he be ready to play? Will he be fit?
In the meantime, I like Bibby on my fantasy team. Carmelo Anthony is ANTI-BASKETBALL

![]() Imagine the best case here: BDiddy returns to his All-Star form from the Warriors, or something close to this, and we have three All-Stars this year?
Can I dream? Is this really a crazy dream?? Carmelo Anthony is ANTI-BASKETBALL

![]() Anyone who is trying to compare to what this guy can bring as opposed to what Billups brought is missing the point big time. Davis is still a strong one on one player and he isn't going to face any double teams. He throws the lob as well as anyone in the league and we have two guys that will thrive playing with his uptempo style.
He's in a contract year and has a chance to win a title and play in New York. He also delievers when it matters and the situation is tailored to his game. And he is healthier than he is letting on. If we can add a little more size we are in business. We need to stay away from James Posey |

![]() I think a lot of BD's success will depend on attitude. One thing I like about him is when he's got it going, he plays with joy. There do seem to be questions about his health and motor, but I don't think he's a crappy teammate like Marbury. If the team is as good as it seems it will be, I'm confident his motor will be fine. It's gonna just be a question of his health.

But just about any coach should be able to make a deep Playoff push with the team we have.nixluva wrote:This shows the difference between a real PG and a guy that just has PG size and can dribble the ball. Guys like Nash, Kidd and Davis can see the play before it happens. They create the distraction in order to setup the easy basket. All that probing of the defense has a purpose, much like a QB using the pump fake to move the secondary where he wants them to go. This is the kind of PG play that MDA has been missing. A guy that understands how to manipulate the defense. If Davis can get healthy he will totally change this teams execution on offense for the better.
And let's put it out there: Billups really never had a shot or time enough to gel Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

![]() As others have said, with other team makeups, Baron Davis is not really the guy you want. However, he could be exactly what we need with our current makeup. To be honest, while Billups was ****ing useless on defense last year, he still was a big loss, considering our roster. Add Baron Davis and I really don't mind losing Billups much at all. Not to mention, with Tyson Chandler in the middle, a lot of guard defensive mistakes will be reduced by his presence. I think we have a good roster now that can compete. Adding one more veteran piece would be ideal, but I think we can should at least make the second round this year. If we get hot, who knows, Eastern Conference Finals? Is it possible? I don't think we have much of a shot of winning the title this year, but I can get behind this roster a lot more than the one we had right after the trade last year.
![]() Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

![]() IMHO, Baron Davis is only second to Steve Nash in pure PG ability in their primes in the past 10-15 years. Baron is definately not in his prime anymore but he still has some left in has tank. Like someone has already mentioned, this is a contract year for Baron and he should be extremely motivated this year. When he does start to play, you will see Nash like magic for Amare. We will actually see Amare PHX in NY. Easy baskets for Amare is what we need and Baron creates this. So excited!!
Plus he is fun.. |

But they bring the street game to the NBA. I guess Marbury too....Eventhough I hate to admit that. It's like they have that ball on a string. Beautiful thing. Of course, this is why these young guys carry the ball on every cross over now, I know...But basketball has always been about entertainment....and BD is the king of entertaining on the court, when healthy and motivated. As far as becoming that Championship piece we need at the PG position? Time will only tell. We will never know until that trophy is handed to us. But while we are on that road to a Championship title, you better believe he will be non stop entertainment. The perfect example of the type of flare a NYC PG should have.....The level of confidence on this team just shot out the roof with BD on board. I'm just hoping he has enough left in the tank. But even if he's slow, out of shape, and only a shell of himself.....He's still light years ahead of TD or Bibby, as far as a PG. I would take a healthy BD over Billups as well....But I've always been a fan, so I will admit, I'm a little bias! If you grew up on the basketball courts in NYC, you will appreciate BD's game....What game does he have now, I don't know. Lets just hope for the best. I will garautee one thing....the garden will be rocking this year! Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland.
The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

![]() this may well end up being that "one player away."
People here hate on MDA and the Knicks have been so deprived of defense that they have forgotten that skill on offense matters. Baron Davis is a top offensive talent. Anyone that says he's not a great shooter or passer simply doesnt know his game. This guy loves basketball and loves running a team. He's never been on a great team. He's always had to do things himself, much like KG did in Sota. When this guy is healthy he is going to make this offense epic. Of this I have zero doubt. Douglas will be the first guard off the bench. Douglas will get minutes in 3 guard sets and as backup SG and PG. Toney Douglas will get 30 mpg. He's our Bobby Jackson or Jason Terry. Whats even better is he will be able to be more aggressive as we will need his bench scoring and he can take more risks on D over playing passing lanes etc. This team will need some time to gel, but I have no doubts we will be winning games in the meantime. Just get healthy by spring and I 100% believe we compete for a title this year. Who do you guard? You simply cant double Amare/Melo with Baron Davis on the floor. He will find the open man for a dunk or abuse your PG off the dribble. People seem to forget how good this guy is. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs

![]() fishmike wrote:this may well end up being that "one player away." agree 100%. they have all the pieces. this is the point guard d'antoni has dreamed of. the first guy he's had who he can really hand over the keys to the offense. AND they have a defensive center and a defensive coach. somehow they seem to have sured up both ends. ¿ △ ?
