I think if there is an opportunity to get Davis you do it. I read one article, Windhorst?, where it was revealed that Davis could be ready in two weeks if he was playing for a contender. The story referenced, "sources" but it could be that Baron wanted to have some choice in where he plays. He is way better than anybody the Knicks have in the backcourt. He would be motivated and on a team with a lot of character.

Iman looks like another steal..... I really hope we start him at the 1. I know he is young

But just from videos of practice and college I really really like him to have a rondo type of game
With a much better jumper and much more athletic ability ...

With scorers like Amare and Melo and Tyson on the block I believe Iman will be a perfect
Starting PG

My opinion

KNICKS on the way UP!!!

he is herniated back and I don't think its so he can sign with anyone.
his agent and Cleveland confirmed this.
so letting whoever know that signs him, knows of the injury and therefore can't hold the injury against him
Cleveland would prefer someone pick him up during the amnesty waiver period, so they can pay less of his salary...

While I think he still has game in him, can play the PnR probably better than anyone except in the near future of Iman, IF HES HEALTHY.
I wouldn't offer him a contract till hes ready to practice.
If he truly has intentions of coming, he will sit back, recover, and rehab then prove he is ready while getting in shape.
If he is just looking for another contract while he is already making good money and is hurt, I want no part of it.
We are limited on roster spots as is, we can't pray he will recover, and then contribute...the injury sounds serious to me, for anyone whoever had a herniated back/disc b4...

thats my mindset. We are about to get feedback as to how all of our players are doing. Can anyone handle the back up power forward role or even the back up center role. What is out biggest weakness. Just tell Davis, we want to wait and see how he recovers.

Jorts could be an option at b/u PF. Liked what i saw at the practice. A bench of Douglas, Iman, Jorts, JEfries could score rebound and defend

I like Jorts too. He is scappy guy that always seemed to be in the thick of things. I think the defense is going to be good if he is quick enough to stay with his man. If the defense is solid, its easy for him to contribute more on the offensive side of the ball, than JJ. I didn't notice Chris Hunter, Jordan or JJ doing anything special. Jorts is the one, who based on our limited data so far, seems to have a chance to be a contributor this year at either Center or PF.

I think you have to try and sign Davis. It is highly likely his agent was bluffing as to the extent of his injury. He will likely be ready in 2-3 weeks, which is fine because we need to give Douglas and Iman some run now anyway. But when playoff time hits, a guy like Davis can push you over the top. Knicks need to go after him hard.

I totally agree. You don't usually have the chance to replace a guy like Chauncey without giving up anything. Davis is very good and he definitely is the best guy out there.

YES! Baron at the vets minimum is a no-brainer. He already is guaranteed almost $28 Mil for the next 2 years from Cleveland.
We have 24 back-to-backs. Baron could play one and sit the other. Amare and others might be doing the same. So we need depth - lots of good, capable players.

If we end up with both Outlaw and Davis I'm ecstatic. But the choice has to be Outlaw if it's on or the other. Fills a more pressing need as Williams' replacement.

Maybe Toney looks better today but from what I saw the most pressing need might be Davis.

Just don't see Outlaw clearing waivers. That kid that GS released might actually work out. He can definitely score and with TD, Iman, Jeffries and jorts the D could be a good mix of scoring and defense

I agree. Baron is the most important guy to get - if he's healthy.

I just think that Melo is going to be more of a facilitator. He's not Kobe or MJ, but I think the Knicks see this roster like some of those teams or like Miami. What we need to really separate us though is strengthening the bench. Outlaw or Pietrus would work.

The Heat still want a point guard, too. I'm sure they'll be one of the finalists for Baron's services.

And there's nothing that says Baron can't come off the bench here to provide bench scoring.

Considering our four failures to date in trying to secure a player for the room exception,
it would not surprise me if Baron chooses the Heat over us. I HATE to say this, BUT with the addition of Shane Battier to their Big Three, they have to be the favorites to come out of the East. Diddy is playing it coy....he's in no rush to jump....he'll probably watch the early part of the season unfold and then make a choice. I can't blame him...he's got his money guaranteed from the Cavs and he wants a ring.

The Lakers are a big threat to our chances of signing BD- he left the Warriors to sign with the Clippers just so he could be in LA a few years ago. Lakers also need a PG- I'd say there's a good chance he ends up there.

As for Troy Murphy, I just find it weird he declined so quickly, and judging by the fact no one has signed him yet, I'd say the decline is permanent. Wonder what happened- I thought he looked a bit heavier last season, but still. Then again if all you do is rebound and hit 3's, and you lose the ability to shoot, then you're screwed.

Once again- Felton will never sign with us again, he took a discount last time he signed with us and we turned around and traded him to the Nuggets- we screwed him.

Amar'e can help B.Diddy strengthen his back using the same conditioning regimen that he used that helped him grow an inch.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!
