come on man... you know I was upset with the trade as well, but with the way melo is playing on both ends of the court, the guy is moving himself into that elite level.. he has a chance this playoffs with amare to become legendary.. no kidding..

I tell you what, outside chance Knicks go on a different kind of '99 run. Boston has cracks in their armor and then Orlando, Knicks don't match them well at the C or PG spots, but neither does Orlando match the PF, SF spots for the Knicks. Could be interesting.

Melo, Amare get hot and Billups finds his playoff fever, anything can happen.

If the Knicks got to the second round, wouldn't it be Miami?

I kind of feel like they will somehow get to at least the second round in these playoffs.

It'd be nice to finish off Boston's run. Very nice. And even nicer to take out the Heat. Here's hoping.

It wouldn't be Miami, but the Sixers.

NBA play-offs are not a bracket like the NCAA tournament.

The highest seed in the 2nd round plays the lowest seed left.

So if the Knicks won, and Chicago won, they'd likely play Chicago, unless the Sixers or Pacers won.

2nd round = match the lowest vs. the highest, then the remaining 2 in the other series.

The NBA is fixed bracket, so this is completely off

The only caveat is that homecourt gets distributed by record, not seed

Is that new? I remember '99 when we went to the Finals; NY was the 8 seed, beat 1 seed Miami in the first, then beat Atlanta (don't remember which seed) in the second, and beat 2 seed Indy in the third.

I'm sorry. You are incorrect. The NBA playoffs brackets are fixed. There is no re-seeding the brackets.

Classic.

I went with fraternity brothers when I was still underage. Saw Busta Rhymes randomly at some 2,000 person venue--he literally passed the courvoisier to the crowd. The girl across the hall was there with her sorority sisters... the hall was more private than the rooms

Expect The Unexpected

and expect The Garden to extremely loud for the first home playoff game.

Doesn't that have a nice sound to it?

"The first home playoff game"

The Miami Heat guaranteed they would win the whole thing and the cursed Boston Celtics are aging faster than an autumn leaf.

I like our chances to make some noise on a big stage. We have absolutely nothing to lose.

One more thing, Carmelo was fouled going up for the shot.

Yup. Blatantly. I hope the Knicks get a few calls in the playoffs, they seem to not get a ton right now from the refs.

Caribana in Toronto is the sh!t.

I would submit that Carmelo is better than a weekend trip to Atlantic City, Las Vegas and Coney Island combined.

Maybe not better than a six day trip to Amsterdam. (with a Five star hotel in The Hague) But it's close.

But that is so fickle to trade one of the wonders of the NBA for a trivial one week stay. As well I've no idea where you came by Jacksonville as a prime destination. It's flat dirty and sprawling and at no time have I hear anyone ever mention it in the same breath as 'Spring Break' Though it's nothing compared to walking in flip flops down to the end of the island and catching a 4 foot stork for a short eyeball to eyeball session. Pulling in supper from a pier or playing sandlot baseball in a pickup game on Saturday morning. Floating down the Ichtucknee in an old inner tube or fishing the 'cracks' along Santa Fe River.

Next time try one of Daytona, Panama City or South Beach. Though doubt you'll see a single stork.

Bill Simmons on Tyreke Evans "The prototypical 0-guard: Someone who handles the ball all the time, looks for his own shot, gets to the rim at will and operates best if his teammates spread the floor to watch him."

Marv - my Spider Sense tells me that Gallo will resign with the Knicks in 2013.

You heard it here first.

Somewhere Melo is smiling at the ticket requests blowing up his text messaging.
