He's been around some of the best players on the planet when in PHX and on the Olympic team and he knows what he's looking at when it comes to players. The guys we've let go haven't set the NBA world on Fire. He's here trying to help Donnie put together a championship team. AR and Hill couldn't cut it. Fields and Williams could. Not that AR and Hill can't become decent NBA players, but that's not the point. We're trying to build the BEST TEAM we can. Some guys just don't fit into that plan.
Dude, seriously why do u have to lick Mike's balls in every post? This is some serious man crush u have going.
I was stating facts, so how is that going into a man crush? Mike has a certain type of player that usually does well with him and you see similarities with guys he's had before. You know the type. High skill level and high IQ or at least a specialist with an NBA skill. Overall he loves guys that can play in the team concept and go hard in practice. Guys like Diaw and Fields come to mind right away among many. But he's good with Stars too. His history is that he usually gets the MAX out of his good players. Tell me where i'm wrong so far.
Its not just this one post. You seem to feel the need to defend D'Antoni in every thread, like the man doesn't have a fault.
Its called Rationalization & Justification. Whatever Mike does, he was right.
Its not normal, and frightening the lack of critical thinking that goes into some of these posts.
I don't know what either of you are getting at. I've posted stats in threads to support what I believe and i've given rational explanations to support what I believe to be the truth about D'Antoni. I've been consistent in my support of him, cuz I fully understand what he's trying to do and IMO many of you are ignoring the facts when looking to point out his failings. Like the absurdly high turnover we've had over the last 3 years. You all know that it's almost unprecedented how many players we've cycled thru and one of the most important things any coach needs to succeed besides good players, is some level of consistency in the roster. That's the only way a coach can get the most out of the players he has.
Being able to come up with a good rotation and develop defensive and offensive chemistry. If you keep making major changes it's nearly impossible to get anything going. Just when you start to get into a good routine, the trade rumors start and boom you make roster changes. That has to be acknowledged as a major factor in Mike's ability to get the most out of this team. Mike has done a good job of adjusting to this new group on the fly. The players seem to be responding to him as well. So i'm happy with how things are going so far.
