FANS of other teams saying we got punked....that Prok got the better player for even less.
This is the guy that made SLOAN....SLOAN walk away from the game. I'd rather see Sloan coaching than have that coach killer on the team.
Seriously...guys went ballistic when the story about Steph and Zeke almost going to blows on the plan but, it doesn't hold a candle to threatening physical violence to your coach during halftime.

fuk williams...glad he took his talents to limbo...I mean Jersy

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I give the all the credit in the world.

I probably make this move if I'm the nets and love the deal if I'm a Nets fan.

Not taking away from the positive move it is.

Just saying the pundits are spinning it beyond that simple fact, and I'm weighing in.

Oh, and I have no facts to back this up, but given what happened last week, and having seen Williams does with the press on camera, anyone get the impression Utah must have REALLY soured on him?

No doubt, Nets will have plenty of selling to do. RT @tribjazz: Jazz's Williams is not happy with trade.

Why only saying this now? RT @sluhm source last week told me Deron was in "a league of his own" as far as creating problems

it would be awesome if Sloan came back tomorrow and was like "Who's your daddy now Deron?"

I love it... Nets are decent but not as good as the Knicks and they have constant drama... what could be better? ITs like the 90s and we are getting our little brother back to kick around

D Will might be stuck in NJ depending on new CBA

Let make no mistake, the end game here for the Nets is Dwight Howard.

If Nets cab win his services over the Lakers and Orlando or hell even Boston (Celtics are sitting on a TON of potential 2012 cap room), they might pull it off.

But who likes the odds of the Nets emerging from the Lakers/Orlando/Boston/Nets scrum?

I mostly convinced Howard winds up with the Lakers. If Bynum can stay healthy for a season a trade makes a TON of sense for both, and you always want to move your free agent to another conference if you can.

Its crazy that they made the deal without having Deron committed to long term. They are really banking on that franchise tag.

can't rule out the Knicks on Howard...a rotation of Melo/Amare/a 36 y.o Billups and Howard would be pretty darn good

Russian dude is no joke!!

First he raises price on Melo then he 1 ups us by getting D WIll at a cheaper price

This back and forth is def good for both sides IMHO

Dolan go get CP3 tonight and I'll be super thrilled

Trade Billups Walker and Azu plus cash and picks!!

We have 24 hrs left so giggy up!!

How did they get Deron at a cheaper price?

Harris = Felton
Favors' potential nearly = Gallo's potential
2 lottery picks = Chandler/Mozgov

To me it looks like they Knicks and Nets gave up nearly the same amount for two of the best players in the league.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come

I can't see the players union agreeing to a franchise tag. The NFLPA is trying to get rid of it.

big difference is...we got a player that wants to be here and signed an extension. Nets could have just spent their whole wad on a rental

Knicks should be in play for Howard as well.

I hope NJ keeps on losing, doesn't ever become his choice and he walks away from NJ for nothing next offseason.

What would be funnier is if Deron walked away from the Nets, right to the Knicks. Poetic justice, and sweet spit right in the face of that wannabe-gangsta, scheming bum of a Nets owner Prokhorov.

Come on man. I switched at the beginning of the year to the Nets (yes, we've truly stunk it up this year) but i'm not gonna be going around wishing ill on anyone on the Knicks. What if somebody came on here talking about they hope Amare blows his knees out so Melo would come to us in a few years...that would be idiotic. Bottom line, it's good for both sides to be on the ball so we can all do it 1955 Yankees - Brooklyn Dodger style (please note the year). Chill.

I think it's hard to compare this deal to the Carmelo deal because if you guys remember, Denver didn't want to originally deal with the Knicks because they didn't have the draft picks that Denver wanted. Price-wise it looks about the same, but the Nets' packages are more attractive to another team because a team like Utah or Denver probably believes that they have a really good shot at getting a better player than Chandler or Mosgov (or even Gallo or Felton) with a lottery pick. So I'd say that both teams gave up the same "price" talent-wise, but the Nets package was better and that's why they were able to get Williams.

Well, according to reports Deron can't sign any extension until July 2011. With that being the case how could they turn this deal down? They'll have him for at least the next season and a half, he'll be the face of the franchise, and they'll have time to build around him leading up to the big move to Brooklyn at which point they're hoping they've done enough to convince him to stay.

Now the joy of my world is in Zion How beautiful if nothing more Than to wait at Zion's door I've never been in love like this before Now let me pray to keep you from The perils that will surely come
