Amar'e Stoudemire was in no mood to tip his cap to the Kings or his personal tormenter, Samuel Dalembert, not after the Knicks suffered their worst loss of the season at the Garden last night.

"They didn't do much," Stoudemire said after losing to the worst team in the West and second-worst team in the NBA overall after Cleveland. "We just missed open shots."

They missed 63 in all in the 93-83 loss. Not all were open. Lots were.

The last time the Knicks were at the Garden, they ran the mighty Spurs out of the building.

Now Stoudemire was trying to explain how a team with playoff aspirations could look so dreadful. The Knicks had just come in off the road, having lost in Utah to end a four-game trip on Wednesday.

What, did they walk home from Salt Lake City? It looked like it.

"We never got our rhythm," Stoudemire said after missing 16 of 22 shots and having several shots swatted by Dalembert. "I felt fatigued."

Okay, the real reason the Knicks were terrible last night was that I was in attendance. I hadn't made it to a game all year for the first time in a half a dozen seasons, and we finally had a winning record. But I had to tempt fate yesterday because it was my brother's birthday and we were all going to the game. And the Knicks responded by shooting 30%. No more games from me, I promise.

IN all seriousness you can't really take this loss and make too much out of it. You're just not going to see a team shoot 30% very often. Knicks were obviously fatigued after their road trip and threw in a stinker. It happens in a long season. Don't get too low from it, just move on.

I only got to see part of the game because I was out and couldn't focus on it. I like Cousin's potential a lot but they showed him having a bit of a tantrum when he was on the bench and his team was very much in control of the game and heading towards a win. If he can keep himself in check he seems like a future star. Right now he reminds a lot of Zach but I'm not sure if that is a good comparison. Amazing that a kid is that big at 19.

i thought his shot selection last night was horrible... even Breen & Frazier were commenting on the way he kept forcing it up inside in traffic & missing layup attempts... didn't show even an inkling of any desire to pass out of the paint to an open teammate once he got the ball in his hands... seems like he still needs to learn how to make better decisions w/the basketball.

Amare is going to have a lot of trouble vs big teams. Knicks need to get bigger and its time for MDA to start playing his bigs. Last night Lopez from the Nets looked like Hakeem vs Lakers Pau Gasol and Bynum. Knicks struggle vs big teams and will continue to do so the Kings game is an example of struggling, Amare is getting fatigued and there has been a movement away from pick and roll as it is become less effective again.

so far MDA's strategy has been to try & play small against bigger teams down the stretch of games to take advantage of our 3 pt shooting ability & try to stretch the defenses away from the paint & free up Amare down low to maneuver... while u can see the logic behind that type of gameplan, it hasn't really been that effective... teams like the Lakers & Kings have killed us in the middle & were able to take away Amare from the game... we have had no answer to counter them.

There is an answer. Get rid of Mike D. Grant you we will win games with Mike D but he will burn Amare and Felton out. I'm starting to see it now playout. We need Carmelo and a big man in the center. I believe Mike D head is very hard and he only wants to play small ball.

DW has staked the future of this team w/MDA, it's too late to go back now... we need to focus on getting MDA the players he needs to win games w/this system he's trying to run... we have the 3 pt shooters to stretch defenses with already... what we're lacking in is a second star player to take the pressure off of Amare's shoulders & can counter against teams when they try & double team Amare in the paint... if MDA likes to play small ball, then get him the players he can play the best small ball with... i don't think a traditional C is needed on this team as much as a star wing player is... MDA doesn't play a traditional system.
