I am not sure if I like this development. All the signs were pointing in this direction anyway. Now that its public, his value dropped for all the teams in the league, excluding the Knicks. At this point it could become a game of "which title contender can insult the Nuggs the least with an offer" and the advantage of the knicks not having to gut the team in a trade has diminished. We now have to come up with a semi-competitive offer, which will still get rejected because the Nuggs GM is apparently a reject. You know that Denver will simply trade him for peanuts to another team now, out of spite. There was no pressure b4. Now every team thats trying to get over the hump just this once, or just one more time, has an option to get him now for a very low price.
