Yeah but you gotta give Williams some credit. Anyone who can come in and knock in some J's will thrive in this offense. His stroke looked really good tonight. He stepped out of bounds or would've had one more 3. He used his length and played some good D too. I don't know if this was a one game thing, but there seems to be a lot he might be able to bring to the rotation. His biggest problem in the NBA to this point was work ethic and attitude but apparently he has been working very hard in practice.

Walker seems to lose his man on D, a lot. I want him to succeed, just not steady

And signing Raymond Felton is starting to feel like we almost signed a near MAX FA. He's a warrior and completely outplayed Chris Paul in his own building!!

i dunno if rayray completely outplayed paul. he had the same #s as ray ray in 10 less minutes. monty basically lost the game by resting paul too much. if he brings him in at the 10 min mark it would have been much tighter and they may have pulled it out.

Cut Mason Jr. and bring in one more big that can bang & play a little. Send Moz to the D-league for development..Really not a whole lot to complain about right now though..Nice job tonight...Can't have a letdown these next 3 games -- @ TOR Sun, Minny at home on mon, then TOR at the Garden on Weds..3 winnable games..I want all 3.

I actually think Moz was caught not thinking about who was around him. He had to realize that Mbenga was a shotblocker, but he probably didn't know. The other mistake he made was going up soft and also not using the pump fake to get the defenders in the air. He wasn't wide open on those rolls to the basket. He'll learn from this and hopefully he'll realize that he needs to go hard at the basket or pump fake to draw the foul. Just don't put up weak attempts inside.

Baby steps Bro. Today, he caught both passes. By next week, a fake and a dunk!

I hope so...I don't want this kid to fail, believe me..I just think he's in over his head a little bit..There are certain things I expect out of a backup center, esp a guy that big, that he's just not providing..They are paying him some serious money for an out-of-nowhere foreign FA signing so it looks like they're gonna stick with him and give him ever opportunity. I'd go the other way though--I still think the D-League would be the best thing for him right now. Send him down with a few specific things to work on..10-15 games or so. I bet we'd see a different player at that time..

Mozgov will benefit more from practicing here and getting a few minutes. He'll start helping soon...he just needs to keep adapting to the NBA game.

I was impressed with him tonight... he definitely stood out. He had one real bad foul but other than that he was good.

Can we cut Roger Mason Jr. now?

In practice you learn the system that the Knicks use. In D-League you learn some other system.

I hear where you're coming from --- In the D-league he'd be starting and getting 30-35 mins to develop and iron out the kinks -- that's my thing..I think that would be more valuable to him (and us in the long run)...If I had the choice: Keep Moz with the big club where he's coming up short in limit duty (and he's gonna get even less time when Ronny comes back and with the emergence of S Williams now) vs. sending him to the NBDL for 10-15 games for extended PT for development purposes --> I choose the latter.

mozgov thus far in the season has shown that he is not ready. randolph needs to step onto the court or the minutes are going to take their toll on amare.

basically said that williams has played well since the beginning and felt this was a good time to give him a shot.

i'm just hoping that williams is so desperate to play that he goes balls out to earn every single minute on the court

Your mouth to Donnie's ears bro..Complete waste of a roster spot...I betcha it comes down to Dolan if it's even been discussed internally -- I bet he just doesn't want to buy him out and be done with him..Technically, Dolan would be right I guess--it's not really the best business in the world and it's a small back eye for Donnie in that he was wrong about Mason, but hey man: win some, lose some. I saw why they we're interested in Mason at one point and for the money, I was behind the signing. Unfortuantely it hasn't worked out and we can do better with that roster spot. That's the bottom line -- it's all about team..Everyone needs to sacrifice some, even the owner..Esp. our bozo owner who's put a lot of money in his pockets off our loyalty...As long as we didn't swing & miss on a player Jared Jeffries style, we're OK..And we didn't...Dolan needs to understand that and realize that cutting Mason and eating whatever salary is owed to him is for the greater good...All of a sudden we have a pretty decent team here...I'm not asking Dolan to eat an entire MLE contract -- This guy's contract is negligible. Cutting him should be a none issue -- a no brainer...You stop at nothing to enhance what we're doing now, however you can do it..And if that means cutting a useless player and eating whatever's remaining on his small 1 year deal to bring in another low risk player who you think can help you, you do it..Why wait for the last week of the season to add a 10-day contract type of player, D-Leaguer or otherwise?? If you can use a player like that now, clear the room and make the move..

Walker hits some 3's, but overall I just don't like his energy level. He doesn't go hard and in addition, it looks to me and my sons, like he put back on every bit of the weight he lost! He's just not my kind of player. He's got all that athletic ability and barely uses it. He takes the easy way out most of the time. Walker is the anti-Fields.

Williams isn't what i'd call a high energy guy, but he seemed to be more involved IMO. I like his size as well. I think once he gets comfortable, he'll loosen up and use more of his skills.

I was thinking about that tonight. It may be close between Amare and DHoward, but after that, I think its a step down. Duncan's still good, but for how much longer?

agree with this. Especially the anti-Fields line.

Haven't seen Howard this year, but yes. Blake G too.

from the way he's played so far, i think Mozgov first needs to master some basic fundamentals like catching the ball in the paint, boxing out for rebounds, footwork in the paint, etc. before we should even worry about him learning this system... i think a stint in the D Leagues could help his confidence... i don't think anyone means for him to stay there all season, just for a month or so to give him a chance to break out of his funk... he obviously has talent otherwise DW would never have signed him to begin with... i think his confidence is completely shot right now & he looks like a lost sheep.

agree... didn't think they had a chance tonight & they went & beat 1 of the top teams in the NBA this year in their own building... very impressive.

It shouldn't be that surprising considering that they've been competitive in every game save maybe 2. This team is capable of playing with any team in the league when they execute properly. Now that Felton/Amar'e is jelling, that opens up everything else.

I'm concerned about the C spot without Turiaf. Also the poor play of Timo n AR isn't helping matters. We need to take advantage of the weaker teams and try to get healthy in time for the tougher schedule.
