more than anything this game shows the need for rebounding.

and a shooter like martell webster would be nice.

Oh where, oh where has my rebounder gone (GS), oh where, oh where can Lee be?

I thought for sure that there would be a concerted effort to replace the lost rebounds. Lots to work on!

Basically Mason and Walker had the worst stretches for the Knicks.

Webster has looked impressive. He's only 23, so maybe he's ready to take another step forward.

Fields is looking good. Very aggressive, tough post-ups. I like this kid.

He really needs to put some arc on his free throws, though.

With the collective output from our starters, they should be on the bench

If your team shoots 26% from 3 and the other team doubles that... bad news bears
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

That's a wrap. Some things to like in this game. Lots of work remains.

The Moz is a keeper!
TD clearly wants to stay with the Knicks, and his hustle and defense should be reason enough
Fields looks like he's a keeper as well.
Rautins can shoot.
Mason only good from the deep corner.

I am more confident than ever that we should NOT trade away our core to get Melo. Anything beyond Curry/Gallo/$3mil/GS 2nd rounders is a deal breaker.

Amare should stop trying to dribble.

Time to get in full on freak out mode. Losing to the TWolves in our debut performance and getting smoked on the boards, from downtown and from the stripe is tough.

I missed the game but saw the box score. It looks like Fields and Chandler had good games. Anyother highlights?

Here is a snippet of what needs change

Ronnie Turriaf CANNOT be starting next to Stoudemire point blank one. What we were having was constant double and triple teaming giving no space for Amare and making him look like Udonis Haslem without the rebounding. I don't know if R Turriaf is in my rotation--he's not big enough against 7 footers and he cant score--so hes a liability player.

Ray Felton played the WHOLE game like he did in the first q of the last game--game over if he does this. He needs to work the pick n roll play make better decisions crisper passes and hit the jumpshot.

We cannot let AR and Gallo fetish the three pt line--its a dire waste. 16 footer in rhythm--OK. But too many 3's. Ar HAS to be required to get more rebounds

Roger Mason---sht player who was let go from SA becasue he lost his shot---and we wasted money picking him up. Out of rotation permanently.

We could use a bulkier player--but right now I think that we should not waste time and bring back barron. He can score and rebound--he can take pressure of Amare becasue he can score.+ he's a legit 7 feet. We need the rebounding and we need the spacing.

I think we can have a nice second unit, especially on the D.

Turiaf - Showing he is a bench player and not starter material

Felton - Maybe he needs to be in a system with a slow pace because he plays out of control. He is still better than Duhon. Felton is going to be better during the season though.

Mason - TRASH

Randolph - needs to focus on defense and let his offense come. He was forcing the issue AGAIN.

Gallo - in love with his shooting.

Now when it comes to Randolph and Gallo I cant blame them much because they are playing out of position. Both of those guys are PF's but dont get to play that position often.

Just an observation:

I believe MDA needs to cut the 3 point shooting. Our team shot 31 3-pointers and only 25 freethrows. We have guys who shot 4 to 8 3's and did not attempt 1 freethrow. Rebounding is another, but you are going to have those nights where you just can't seem to rebound. Too early to tell IMO about the lack of rebounding. I do believe we should cut down on the 3's about 15 attempts less and try to convert those to more freethrow attempts. Some of our stat-lines are just horrible. But it is pre-season.. RIGHT!!
