He does have an NBA out clause after 2010-2011, with a buy out. It’s doubtful that Khimki would look to sell his rights this summer considering how valuable his domestic passport is to them. Russian league rules state that two local players must be on the court at all time. I think you're right but the way the OP's source worded the deal is confusing. It says the Knicks paid Kimki $500K but doesn't say why. I guess it must be for a buyout, though. |

![]() Mozgov possesses little in the ways of touch, post-moves, dribbling ability, footwork or any of the other skill-based attributes that most big men need in order to be effective at the highest level of competition. He’s not terribly coordinated, often looking like a bull in a china shop trying to execute advanced moves, thus being fairly turnover prone. While he gets to the free throw line at a solid rate, he only converts around 50% of his attempts, and is obviously incredibly limited when asked to do anything offensively outside of the paint. No one is going to confuse his passing ability or basketball IQ with that of Arvydas Sabonis anytime soon. Especially liked this part of the evaluation. https://

![]() He's probably somewhat similar to Fasenko--if you notice he gets off the ground a lot better than Rasho probably not as skilled with the J. But we got him to be a 7+ banger who has some upside at his age.

![]() He's big, strong and can move. That's a nice combination. I'd love to see him on our summer league team, but I don't expect there's much chance of that happening.

![]() It amazes me how so many open minded people can have such strong opinions(good or bad) about a guy that they've never seen play.
I just hope that people will like me

Fans with this mindset were also bashing the Gallo pick and so far, that has turned out pretty well. Absolutely love the off-season we're having so far. Our front-court is pretty stacked right now with long and athletic guys that can be rotated easily to have fresh legs in there at all times. After 2 years, MDA finally has some pieces that fit his system and I'm very excited to see this team take the floor. I still think we could use another lethal shooter but we have addressed so many problem areas this off-season that I'm confident this roster will only get better with time (and as we accumulate more assets). And for those complaining about the cap, are you kidding me? Even if we are $1-2 million shy right now of offering a max (which I honestly haven't even checked the numbers because it's still ridiculously early to talk about 2011 cap space), did you guys not see how teams like Chicago and Miami were willing to clear up significant cap space at the last minute? After what Donnie and other GMs have shown in the 2010 sweepstakes, how can you possibly believe that Walsh will not have enough cap to make a play for Melo? Guess what, if he's short a few million, he will clear it. As we've seen recently, it can be done pretty quickly (go ask Pat the Rat). "This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

![]() Actually "Mozg" in Russian means "brain".
Looks like this thing is in short supply on the forum, but "Dlinnij Jazik" meaning "talk too much" is widely available. ![]() "There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio, Than are dreamt of in your philosophy." Hamlet

![]() He looks very raw to the NBA game in those clips. No defenders bodying up on him, no need to play back to the basket on offense. No boxing out on D. He's like a 7' slasher. Could take a while before he understands where to even stand on the floor for the NBA game.
But he does look like an big able body to have near the hoop when his defender gets caught off guard. |

![]() He looks pretty uncoordinated. And this is somewhat of a highlight clip against smaller and less skilled opponents than he'll face in the NBA. I hope DW and MDA saw something else, because I'm not even sure he's going to be a worthy back up...and for 3 million..
and per the draftexpress he seems to be a pretty dumb player as well. I think at least this season he's gonna be one of those guys that fouls 3x in 5 minutes and sits the rest of the way. |

I think that's fair. We do need to see hat he can do with a functional roster first. But he will be watched closely. I am just not sold on Mark Jackson t all. ![]() Here is some more info from people at an International forum:
I dont know the details of the deal, but he might just be a terrific fit for Knicks.. I think he'll be a good signing due to his athleticism and the fact that he will play in a quick pace offense.
