Each of those chips only represent potential. You don't know if the player we would end up with would be good or bad. The cap space will give us a chance to bring in proven talent both this year and possibly next yr depending on how things go. Giving up Hill and a pick isn't the end of the world. Those two players won't likely be the thing that sets us back another decade as some are suggesting. That's just alarmist BS! Hill and a 2012 pick is gonna ruin our franchise? COME ON!!!
the risk is all in and missing. then you go to plan b-XX. most likely those are not as useful as landing elite guys or worse, getting nervous and bringing in overpaid scrubs again. im taking the under view cuz this team has done nothing but let me down for 10 yrs. i hope for the best, however wont be shocked if things dont go well. no team has ever done what walsh is trying to do, sign outright 2 elite players. not sorry to say that is a concern to me as a fan (not that its being tried, that it may not work).
would you support dumping gallo to unload curry if it meant possibly getting better players? note that is a possibility not a guarantee. hill <> gallo, however clearing out curry might be interesting.
hill was a bad pick either cuz he was the wrong guy, or wasnt given a chance. as i said the night the trade went down --> if this gets lbj, no one will care about this trade. no where do i say its the end of the world. i noted walsh probably wont get smoked if he strikes out. as noted, i applaud effort, eventually results are required.
