there's a $1.6M trade exception the knicks own. that would make it work with Veal. i'm sure we'd waive veal immediately.

Depends on where the pick is and how much salary the Knicks need. If its a late pick it will cost the Knicks ~500K.

Isn't that still $500k more than they want to have on their books?

I rather have a player for 500K than a cap hold for roughly the same amount.

Well played. D'ivatoni strikes again!

yeah, what's the point in getting a draft pick for 5'7" player you couldn't re-sign anyway?

also, what's the knicks record in games nate plays over 18 minutes in this season? 6-22? pretty sure they are 13-11 when he plays fewer than 18 minutes or is benched or injured. just sayin'. he hurts the team and often breaks the flow of the offense with his bad shots. when those bad shots are going in, he's a special player. when they aren't he's a minus. we were better this year when hughes and duhon were the primary guards.

What does his height have to do with anything? If you micro-analyze him, one can create a hole field of flaws. Like Phar said, in a lot of ways I feel he was scapegoated and made to look like a bad guy to distract from a lousy season.

But you guys win, Nate's gone. Excuses are gunna start to run out for D'ivatoni and Walsh soon, because they are getting everything they want.

for starters - his height has to do with the fact that he is a liability on defense. he's a flawed player. yes, he was our flawed player, but i think he was overrated by a lot while here.

it's not his fault we sucked, but he wasn't part of the solution either.

Perhaps we helped to wreck his trade value by constantly marginalizing him and making an example out of him. I guess thats my ultimate point.

Well at least the Knicks got House for him. He should be an improvement, right?

Didn't think you could package a trade exemption.

I'm suddenly hungry.

I think everyone needs to stop wigging out for a moment and just see how this plays out. We know the Knicks and Celtics are trying to finalize a deal regarding Nate Robinson.

Anything more seems to be speculative at this point but Eddie House would make sense in return.

Trade deadline is in 23 hours and 33 minutes. Probably time to let this thing simmer a bit and see what breaks later tonight or tomorrow.

I'll miss Nate Robison. It's too bad he never got to play here on a team with a couple of veterans to keep him in check. He wasn't perfect and he has his flaws but he played hard and was always in shape. He might be annoying but he's not a bad guy. I'll miss him.

But Eddie House is a total scrub. Let's see how many wide open shots he get's without the Big 3. I predict he'll be the most hated player after Chris Duhon.

i wont say ill miss nate robinson, but i agree with the rest of what you said about him. nate will play well with guys like garnett and pierce to keep him in check.

Oh but you forget he is a pure point and a tremendous defensive player.

I liked Nate Robinsons energy and hustle and power. I didn't like how he could never play in the flow of an offense and was a poor defender and unable to shake his attitude issues enough to learn instead of combat those who were trying to teach him. Players like him are great when they're on fire and terrible when they're not.

I grew tired of the head aches just like I've grown tired of pretty much the same crap from Harrington.

Removing those types of players is the right idea in terms of trying to build a better team harmony and chemistry on the court.

Of course, that's meaningless for the rest of this year, but what isn't is removing two players who know they aren't in our future plans from the team instead of watching them sulk in the final 30 games. It's best to move those guys forward.

Now Nate can go try to start over in Boston. I wish him luck but I won't miss him no matter what he does over there.

We play Boston next Tuesday. He's going to want to drop 50 on us.

I have League Pass so I will be making an effort to catch more Boston games - if only to see if he can get along with Doc and how he performs with a club that has strong leaders.

Gonna miss him as a Knick either way. Knucklehead or not.

I think the million dollar bonus is a sticking point and they need a third team to facilitate the deal. I cant see why Nate would take the trade and lose his bird rights. I also think the Houston trade will never happen. Walsh is very patient and he will sit on the expirings

I don't think Bird rights mean all that much to Nate. He will probably sign for something equal to or less than the mid level, so its not like he will be losing out on a ton of potential $.

In the same light, for Houston, it would be a waste for letting TMac expire and get nothing for him. Which is why Houston shouldn't be dictating such high terms. If Houston gets nothing for TMac, they have lost out on a lot.

no, they haven't. they'll just have cap space. they have nothing to lose.

Houston will have some cap space but they lost out on the opportunity to get1st round picks; a #8 draft ed rookie; a player to help them make the playoffs this year; etc.

Do you realize they could have added Caron Butler and Hayward and been a strong contender in the West this year and next year. All for a player they are not playing.

If Morey doesn't get anything for TMac, he is a BIG loser.
