my complaint with him is why didn’t he pull back on the 3-pointers earlier? you can say the players were adjusting, but i think it was up to mda to yank guys when they took out of flow 3's and let them sit for a few minutes while an assistant reminded them. we went through this last year too with basically the same crew of players. do they all of a sudden "get" it to not chuck so much or does mda finally get fed up and enforce it?
my guess is that MDA was feeling out his players. Hill, Douglas, Hughes, JJ, Landry, Curry, Duhon, Lee, Harrington, Gallo, Darko.
Hill, Douglas: Can he play right away? Is he ready? Will he pick up a very complex offensive system.
Hughes: Dude makes 1 basket in preseason... should MDA have shut him down for good or give him a chance to play?
Gallo: How is back holding up? Is he in shape and ready?
Curry: In shape? Ready to run?
Lee, Harrington: which one is the leader?
Duhon: is he the first half player or the second half player of last year.
JJ: was his semi good shooting during preseason an aberration or for real?
Darko: is he for real and want to prove himself?
Most of the guys on the team struggled shooting for the first 10 games (and some still are). Was it the individual or the system? Was it the rotation, minutes, combo or both?
With a team in such flux it's hard not to see some of these coming into play.
