paladin55 - totally agree with Gallo matching up at big forward.

That makes one.

The Mayor makes two.

Larry Hughes brings versatility, needed backcourt height and defensive saavy

That's three.

That leaves vacancies to fill at the positions best described as "Marcus Camby Center" and "Kevin Johnson lead guard."

David Lee will make an outstanding sixth man.

yea.. Chandler simply isnt as good as he was last year. He's a rotation guy but little more. Good value where he was drafted for sure, but nothing special. Strikes me as a taller Desmond Mason. Nothing wrong with that at all, but lets not tout his as anything more that what he is.

Gallo has special potential because of the shooting. There are only a handful of guys that can shoot it like that. It makes developing the other things so much easier. Chandler never showed that kind of shooting touch or that kind of offensive game. He's an athletic guy and plays hard.

Marv - Huge step back?

Homeslice, lets not get overly dramatic. The expectations sometimes do not fit the crime. The Mayor is coming off a Summer of inactivity due to surgery and was worked in at a new position for starters. Certainly, if you want to throw a tantrum with every missed shot or pass you think he should have made that is your choice. Major question mark? C'mon Man!

This is an audition season. I still see a diamond in the rough at skill forward.

When the Answer Man starts asking questions, you better be ready to respond!!!

your seeing the rough, just not the diamond.

Chandler has a below average handle. He's got an average jumpshot and below average range for a wing player. He's a good rebounder and an enthusiastic defender (at times). He is a poor passer and has poor court vision. He has a poor shot selection. Doesnt really matter whether your playing a new position or an old one, that doesnt add up to good things.

I was very curious to see how Chandler would look as year 3 is really the telling year IMO. Look at guys like David West, Aaron Brooks, Rondo, Zach Randolph, Michael Redd... I could go on and on. The 3rd year is the one were you really see what kind of NBA player they are going to be.

can Chandler get better? Sure, and I hope he will. Dont be waiting for him to "develop" into some kind of skilled point forward cause he's not. He's going to get better at what he does well now, which is score in transition, defend, rebound and hit the mid range jumper.

i've always thought chandler was overrated. i never liked him as much as i liked ariza.

that said, we gave up on ariza too early and i hope we don't make the same mistake with chandler.

"i've always thought chandler was overrated."

Overrated? I thought his ratings were not so overwhelmingly favorable when he entered the league. Who "over"rated Wilson Chandler when he was drafted into the league?

The Mayor will get totally healed and continue to work on his game. He is the ripe old age of what, 23 or 24?

The stubborn impatience with this young player, who shows positive signs, is staggering.

Yea, he's doing everything Eddy Curry didn't do in his early years.

Earl, that might be the funniest thing you've ever said.

JrZyHuStLa - We're sitting here, and I'm supposed to be the Answer Man, and you're talking about Eddy Curry. I mean listen, you're sitting here talking about Eddy Curry, not Gallo, not Gallo, not Gallo, but you're talking about Eddy Curry. Not Gallo that went out and dropped 27 and 10 out there and dunked on the Suns even though they were 14-3 but you're talking about Eddy Curry man. How silly is that?

"basketball strenght, more core strength and explosivness." please stop nitpicking at Gallo. 27 and 10 is a beautiful thing.

He has played a grand total of 46 NBA games. A little over a half season. With experience, confidence and a fluid 6'11 running buddy at center, things can only get better.

Why of why can't Nate Robinson be 6'8?

If you know me, when it comes to gallo, the last thing I do is nitpick... LOL..

we are just talking about some areas he needs to work on.. I am still smiling from last nights game, but when you start playing like that. Teams take notice.. teams are already guarding gallo at the three point line.. I am just looking at ways he can get so much better.... just look at brandon jennings after that 55 point game.. teams started paying more attention to the young fella.

This is far from nitpicking gallo... I am one of the few strong gallo defenders on here along with TMS...

don't leave me out dude.

of course not....

funny thing is the guy i really wanted that year in the draft was OJ Mayo, but we couldn't trade up to get him... i kept an open mind on Gallo after we picked him... the kid definitely had skills as anyone could see from his YouTube clips & scouting reports... alot of posters around here react so emotionally if we don't pick the guys they want instead of stopping to really look & consider how good the guys we did pick could actually be... alot of the things we're hearing this year about Jordan Hill was said about Gallo last year... "he's raw, he looks lost, he looks soft, he's a bust" blah blah blah... Jordan Hill's gonna be just fine... he just needs the playing time... Gallo's turning out to be a terrific pick at #6... probably our best looking prospect since Mark Jackson.

After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

sorry tms, but hill was NEVER in gallo's level. gallo was ALWAYS considered much higher in talent and potential than hill ever was. you serious, brotha??
