REALLY? This is necessary after all this time? Let's just go back to what my original point was:

He's a flawed player but he could totally change how this team plays if he can get out there and keep up with the rest of the team. We so desparately need some kind of post presence at times in the game. We can't live on jumpers with so few guys able to shoot well.I just hope that he can make it back cuz we're stuck with him no matter what and he really could help spread the floor and allow us to shoot more open jumpers and get more easy baskets per game.
Everything I said was predicated on him doing his job and getting healthy. If he couldn't get in shape enough to run with the team, then obviously the point was moot. The idea back then was that we lacked size and could use his inside presence. I see nothing wrong with my thinking at that point and with a guy that was 25/26 years old at the time, there really was still some hope that he could get his act together. If he even got to the point where he could give us 16pts inside it would make a difference back then. That's really what this was about. I stand by my position at that time. If there was still a chance we could get something out of him it was worth the effort. Paying a player that much with no way to move him unless he performs, you have to hope he can get his head straight. The talent is there, just not the desire.
