i hope jordan hill never comes to ultimateknicks.com. do you guys ever wonder if the relentlessly unrealistic expectations for draft picks have something to do with why we rarely have young guys succeed here? people called ariza delusional just because larry brown said so. people trashed frye and nate and dlee left and right. people are quick to trash chandler and gallinari. let's give these kids a chance and stop laying all the frustrations of the last ten years at their feet. it's not jordan hill's fault layden traded camby and nene for dyess. it's not jordan hill's fault we don't have a draft pick next year. let the kid learn and grow before completely writing him off.

well played good sir... we've yet to see how Jordan Hill even fits with the Knicks. As has already been mentioned, the Knicks SL "team" was really a SG audition. Who knows how he'll do with some balance and who knows how he'll do as he learns the nuances of the game.

Yeah guys, but Zero Objectivity will not get bullied into "buying into popular opinion" so don't waste your time.

these are the same guys, who, if gallo were to play in this summer league and average oh say 20ppg, 6rpg and 5apg would say "it's only summer league, let's wait to see him do it in the real season before calling him a superstar!" it just gets tired.

my opinion on Hill has nothing to do with my opinion on Gallo.

5 summer league games is a perfectly acceptable tune up for his 82 games (plus playoffs duh!) NBA rookie campain. If he's not ready its because he's a talentless hack and the Knicks got burned again.

Knick fans have no idea how to deal with drafted or developed players because we never draft or develop players. Knick fans look at other teams finished products and ask why our guys arent like their guys. David West is your prototypical fundamentally sound 20/8 NBA powerforward. Of course he would have been run out of town here as he did NOTHING in his first 100 NBA games and first two seasons. Blatch is another guy I think is going to be really good. He's been in the league 4 years now and has shown flashes. 4 freakin years.. can you imagine????

Knicks have a nice underbelly of talent forming here with Gallo, Hill, Douglas and Chandler. If Lee and Nate (25 years old) stick around count them.

noone has written him off

Its not unreasonable to ask Hill to:

put a hand up
box out
put a hand up
stop letting your man beat you down the floor for dunks
put a hand up

it's not unreasonable to ask and i would hope the coaching staff drills that into him this august and training camp.

developing kids is partly on the kids and partly on the organization, i think.

but from many accounts, hill has displayed pretty solid activity of defense. he had 5 blocks and 5 steals in 5 games. he averaged 14ppg and 8rpg on a team that had minimal talent, particularly at the wing and guard. we had little outside shooting and no real second year players on our team, unlike some other teams who had AR, McGee, etc present. if Wilson had played or if Gallo had played, the game would have been a lot easier for Hill. that said, he still had a solid showing and got better from the beginning of the week to the end of the week. briggs said it - he earned a solid "B" in summer league. not awe-inspiring, but certainly no reason to put on your cassandra gown and start proclaiming the end is nigh.

we drafted two solid guys who we knew weren't gonna be stars - we all wanted the star potential of a rubio or a s curry but it didn't happen. we drafted two solid guys and they played solid ball on a team with zero star power to help them out. i'm not thrilled, but i'm not going to trash these guys for not being the stars we all desperately want on this team. would i like it if we had drafted AR last year and AR was making silky smooth moves next to jordan hill and jordan hill only had to concern himself with getting AR's back and not being the offensive focal point? sure.

but i'm looking forward to seeing how hill and douglas look when the offense is going through duhon, chandler, (hopefully) gallo and (hopefully) nate. they are solid basketball players with good size and good potential to improve. are they stars? no.

What i noticed is that Hill doesn't get in the right position on defense.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

On the plus side, by all accounts Hill's back is fine.
