Closk! Summer league is exciting!

I'm sure you all want to know Curry's stats from today's game. He's coming along, getting ready to send closk with the best of them.

23 points (on so-so shooting), 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals, 2 fouls

He's going to have to learn to tighten his game up. He takes a good shot he takes a bad shot he makes a good pass he makes a terrible pass. All in all easily one of the top guys even with the badFG%[maybe he pans out 3rd best in the draft?] and maybe the most exciting to watch. If he does tighten his game out--meaning making good passes 85-90 instead of 50% and taking shots when they make sense and not just to take them at times. He's already going to be a fine rebounder and TEAM defender[not necessarily great or even good 1-1]

I will say it wouldve been 100000 times more exciting with Curry than Hill. There would be a buzz with Curry and he would be great here. I don't know what the deal is if we couldve had pick 5????? or during the draft IF we couldve flipped 6 for 8 once Minnesota drafted Rubio but if there was any chance of either and it wasnt done--terrible brutal mistake for the franchise. If they had any chance to get Curry they shouldve taken the chance--even if it meant giving up Chandler. Curry is a special guy--he really is. He has a lot of work to do but he has a great chance to be really special.

100,000 times more exciting?

Briggs - let it go. sheesh. You have no earthly idea how exciting it will be in Madison Square Garden with Jordan Hill dunking in traffic.

Until further notice Stephen Curry plays for Golden State. Enough areddy.

LOL. Another how the Knicks f-ed up post before any Knicks draft pick even plays one minute of summer league...

I was all for swapping Chandler for the 5 pick, even if it didn't net Rubio. But even then, it would have been Rubio, not Curry. Hindsight is 20/20 but the way things played out, there was zero chance that the Knicks got Curry. "Swap for the 6th pick with Minny"... cause the Knicks didn't try?
Please, let it go...
You know I gonna spin wit it

I think that Curry would've been a very exciting type player here and had a great chance to thrive in this style of play.

Im not taking anything away from Jordan Hill but I don't see the same thing there. Thats the whole key--we need a special player--we havent had one and that is the sad truth.
I think we need someone in between Walsh and IT. IT had the ball s and Walsh has the temperament and conservatism[but does he have it to a fault?] Oh well.

I think Curry will flourish regardless of where he plays. However, yeah, I think he'd come along quicker under MDA than Nelson. He needs a year of focusing on point guard skills and D. He's already a solid gunner and, unfortunately, I suspect he'll be mostly a shooter for GS. It would be a shame if his career ends up along the lines of, say, Crawford. I'd much rather see him sharing the point with Duhan for a year or two. It is a little disturbing that he twisted his ankle on his second outing, even if he did play through it. If he's going to go to the basket every other possession...well, we'll see if his ankle holds up.

There's only three players I'm betting turn out be difference makers: Griffin, Curry, and Rubio. Sucks to come so close to both yet miss out. Jordan Hill should contribute though

What they were doing last night was Randolph would take a rebound down--move it quickly to halfcourt--usually dropping it off to Curry to run the halfcourt--go and repost and Curry would move into a pick and roll situation .What Curry has to recognize right away is he will be better off averaging 6-7-8 assits and cutting down on some extra shots. This thing that Anthony Randolph does not have basketball IQ is absurd. To be honest he looks like one helluva smart player. He's also noticeably bigger.
To me if I was GS I would work off Ellis Curry and Randolph--those are my new big three and the other guys need to fall in line with that. You have a good C who can help rebound protect the rim and score--what GS has to do is make sure Maggette and Jackson dont hog--they may need to move 1 of them for chemistry reasons. I will be watching a lot of gS games this year--I think that will be very fun basketball to watch.

Personally, I would move both Maggette and Jackson. All those two guys will do is teach the 3 young kids is how NOT to be a good teammate and player.

Watching Summer League interview of Gallinari with Breen & Clyde right now. Danilo's English has definitely improved. Breen asked if he was on any particular conditioning & diet program, he said no diet, because he's Italian, he already knows how to eat.

When asked by Breen what he thought about D'Antoni's desire to see the Rooster & the Mayor step their games up to help attract free agents, he said:

"Nah, I like the pressure. I think that from the pressure the champions come up."

Sig worthy. Let's hope dude is a champion!

Seems like dude really likes being in the city. I wonder if he's Duhoning it up out here. Clyde told the Rooster that if he needs a road dog to some Italian restaurants, he's got one. I like Dani Boy's swagger.

But let's see the hardcourt skills already! I liked the flashes I saw that stretch he was out there. Let's hope we can see a whole season of him and see him blossom like we got to see with Nate & Lee.

Alongside Nate & Lee, all the better IMHO.

San Antonio is pirsing their pants with Blair. How could that guy last to 37? he gets in there and that is it. He's getting the rebound and no one can stop it. A lot of teams will end up with a big regret there because he can also score it. It's like they just drafted Paul Millsap and to get that at 37 is the difference between good and bad teams.

Except for a couple of guys the overwhelming feeling I get is the draft will be looked at as better than expected.

Let me guess who those couple of guys are...

Jordan Hill and Toney Douglas?

LOL Jones, you are on a roll today.

some of us have been telling u this draft class would be better than being projected for months... there was a lot of talent taken in this draft when someone like Budinger was taken in the 2nd round

Telling me? I was one of the few people who thought this was a good draft class.

We tried to tell you, over and over again, but you just would not listen.

Maybe now you believe us.

We tried to warn him!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i was talking to BRIGGS douchebag... send closk alert

Then why did you reply to nyk4ever?

because i felt like it douchebag

Oh, okay. I just wanted to understand how your mind works. Now I get it.

gotcha

Guys let's not start this again, you know what trouble it got us into last time

Is this why Martin is so angry these days?

why was he angry the first time?

I don't think he's angry. Normally when he is angry he calls of naked Monday's at the office. And well let's just say that right now, I'm not wearing any pants

That's more than I needed to know.

But enough to keep you interested.
Send closk junkies!

i agree these men have dependency issues.

Agree 1000% with Marv about the dependency issues. Begs the question though - who doesn't need some send closk in their life?

Huh?

All of you guys need a life.

I found the definition of send closk btw. I found it browsing the internet.

Hmmmm. Interesting closk side-effect occurring here. Briggys post seems to get longer and longer on more and more lines each time the closk is deployed. I wonder where it ends?

Also, for the new forums, there should be a "turn closk OFF" button, cuz im pretty sure my phone couldnt handle this amount of open page.

LOL Martin/Andrew could put the "turn send-clsk off" button right uptop next to the "turn images off" button.

no i gotta agree with that there.

Wow, didn't expect this! Anyone see?

I can understand getting shut out of offense, but rebounds and blocks and PFs?

pos min fgm-a 3pm-a ftm-a off def tot ast pf st to bs pts
B.Mullens 12:58 2-2 0-0 1-2 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 0 5

He mustve heard you martin he had 10 points 5 reb 5 blocks in 23 minutes. He has shown he can do a lot of things so far--he has a lot of talent. he can shoot with range he showed tonight he can block shots he's active and athletic. Out of the two 7 footers drafted in round 1 Mullens is clearly the better talent[sorry Tabby] He's two years away both physically and honing his skills but he's 19. He's going to get a LOT better--he's a player and he has shown his variety of goods. If he can give me one 16 point 12 rebound 3 block 3 assist effort in 28 minutes over the next 3 he can walk out of the summer with his head way up. He's no bust hes going to be a good player over time. I think overall he has shown very well so far.

Invented in the UK post-season wastelands by Arkrud.

From Wikipedia:

quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pronounced se-nd Klosk (eng). Phrase.
Thought to originate in Eastern Europe. Has become firmly entrenched in slang vocabulary in the USA, mainly in the city of New York.
The phrase is of course most famous for having the unique lingual properties of being a verb, noun, determiner, adjective, adverb, preposition, conjunction and pronoun. Such uses include "Then I just send closked all over her shoes", "Tell that send closk i'll get him his money", "thats a real send closk ring you have on Mr Ariza" and "they all lived send closk ever after".
Despite its versatility, the phrase is most commonly used as an exclamation of inebriation. An example of this would be "Send Closk! I am so gamweered right now!!"

Historical Uses:
General Custer's final words were reported to include the phrase.
Legendary basketball coach Red Aurbach was known to use the phrase frequently to inspire his team to greater hights.
King Harold of the Saxons, when shot in the eye at the Battle of Normandy in 1066, blamed the archers' supernatural accuracy on "the send closks of fate".
Alexander Graham Bell used the phrase to test the first telephone.
Albert Einstein in his seminal essay on the General Theory of Relativity is believed to have included the phrase in individual letters throughout the document at prime number intervals.
Charles Darwin, upon returning from the Galapagos Islands commented to his wife on the incogruity of "those send closk turtles".

Legal Controversy:
Despite being only recognized as slang vocabulary at this time, there is growing momentum to include send closk into the official Oxford Dictionary. In March 2009 Mr Martin Andrew, Secretary-General for the "Legalize Send Closk" office in New York commented "Send closk has far more uses in everyday language then words such as Tresayle, Malacissation and Sennit. If it is a problem with space, we would be more then happy to remove those words to make space for send closk". Chief Medical Officer Dr Marv Nalod added "Because of the versatility and bi-lingual nature of send closk, we honestly believe that its proliferation will actually help curb violent crime and aid global reconcilliation efforts with non-allied countries"
Dr Neville Arkrud of the Ukraine Historical Trust described the efforts of the LSC Foundation as "misguided" and "insulting and culturally abhorent to working-class Eastern-Europeans". Plans to bring the proposal to EU Court of Commerce are unconfirmed at this time.
