Briggs, I completely agree that Blair was the best pf after Griffin - definitely better than Hill. He embarrassed Thabeet one on one. But you and I aren't in the loop about the specifics of Blair's knee problem. The nba gm's are. That problem had everything to do with his falling as far as he did and we don't know the medical details.

dont forget the guy measured 6'5.25" without shoes and 6'6.5" with shoes and is a power forward. those guys don't get taken in the first round, no matter how well it worked in college.

Right- the odds are against short, fat PF's, There are a ton of great ones in college every year that don't sniff good production in the NBA. The ones that do end up being good are exceptional athletes who play with top 2% work ethic, i.e. Milsap, Maxiell, Evans etc.

The kid already dropped 30 pounds since the end of the season. If the Spurs took him there is a 90% chance he turns out to be a great role player for them.

Yes but he will be surrounded by players who are better than him, this will allow him to overachieve. I don't think that would happen with the Knicks since our roster is so weak at every position.

If Toney Douglas becomes Charlie Ward part 2 then I will be very happy. Can he play the point?

There was another player just like Blair. 6'5 great rebounder, good scorer, can score in the post.. he came into the NBA and put up big numbers right away but on a losing team. Eventually he became a bench player for the Knicks and is now out of the league. His name was Clarence Weatherspoon.

Spoon was a monster in college, touted by many to be the next Barkley. He put up good numbers out of the gate but on terrible teams. The Heat dumped him away when he was destroyed in the playoffs by the Knicks tall athletic front line (Camby), and he ended up on the Knicks where he was a great rebounder off the bench and played hard but at the end of the day he's a 6'5 post player.

I like Blair a lot, but he wasnt right for our team and every team passed on him at least once.

6'5, powerforward, plays below the rim, two knee operations... Not someone you want to give a guarenteed contract to.

I watched about 30 videos and a couple hours of tape on him. He's not a PG by any stretch. He reminded me the most (on offense) of Reggie Miller. He's got a very quick release and can gets that jumper off very quickly. He's great from deep and from the mid range as well. The thing that reminded me of Reggie was how he would take to dribbles to get just to the defender's left or right. It didnt really create much space but kept the defender from getting a hand in his face. The other thing is how well he moved away from the ball. He's going to be a nightmare to chase around screens and picks.

On defense he really gets after guys. Really showed great lateral quickness. Very Gary Payton like. I can see why he was defensive player of the year. I am excited about him. Perfect two way guy off the bench. If Nate goes away this guy is going to have an immediate impact on both sides of the ball. I can see why Walsh was going to move the pick if he wasnt on the board.
