^^ Yea anything with hunting, killing a beast in the wilderness is definitely good training for any sport, simply beause it fine tunes your Winning Brain, and recalibrates it for attack and victory. These close to Mother Earth battles make men strong and strong men Warriors, go for TTHE WARRIOR of weight loss with some CYCLING and POWER LIFTING, CYCLING FOR HEART.

Sorry, hunting is for sissies for the most part. You use technology to lure the animals and you use high powered weapons to kill them. Sorry, but that's not worthy of glory in my mind.

You don't have to use high-tech and high-powered weapons. You could hunt with a spear, or a stick or a rock for that matter. Yeah, why don't you go wrassle with a wild boar bare-handed? That would be great exercise. I'm sure that's what the blob meant.

I understand that you HAVE to hunt like that. I'm saying there's no glory in it. You didn't do a great thing. You shot someone. It's not worthy of people thinking you're awesome, b/c it's not awesome.

We're not talking about being awesome. We're talking about losing weight and strengthening your brain. You should also ride a bike, it's excellent exercise. The best thing is to hunt while riding a bike. That will really tone your body and strengthen your brain.

I don't know what happened. I don't know why it happened. I don't deserve for it to have happened. But I managed to be able to type that I'm 240 lbs this weekend. I was prepared to take a big hit. I guess I either prepared well or maybe I lost a little from moving around so much from paintball and at work last night and maybe burned some calories from good sleep.

Maybe that's not it at all, but I'm going to take it and run. I'm changing my workout routine though and I'm going to start lifting weights this week starting today and I'm going to start doing 30 minutes of cardio instead.

I hear the best thing to do is start with maybe 10 minutes of abs so I'm going to do that as well.

We'll see if this helps out. I need to strengthen up though.

For the record, it's going to be a tough weekend for this. I have two real good out of state friends coming to town this weekend and there's going to be 2 bbqs. I'm not going to go crazy, but I've been preparing hard all week to take a hit. Hopefully I'll be able to stay right here at 239. (Yes, I've been weighing myself every morning.)

Pack a salad and just say no. You do not need to shove 15 hamburgers down your gullet just to have a good time. You will still have a good time and feel better afterwards if you stick to what you are doing.

End of lesson.

Bip, do I have your permission to engage in beer pong combat?

BTW, I'm also going paintballing tomorrow before that. Anyone know if you get a good workout from that? I'm quite excited because I've never gone.

Beer Pong Combat is the only type of drinking that is allowed under my program.
I just hope that people will like me

^You're all wrong on the cycling.

Biking is fun because you go fast, go far, and you get a fun work out. Try sprinting up some hills and then you coast and sprint another hill. It's so awesome.

And you can ride through traffic and it's like an adventure.

How is that working out for you?

It's working out SO GOOD, it's been 1.5+ mos. by now and my legs are already toned as heck! it's amazing. i zip through traffic all the time and i laugh at the gas guzzling losers in their SUVs.

I have mastered biking with no hands, so now, when I'm cruising (instead of ripping stuff up), I cruise with no hands and I get a load of the sights and sounds.

Awesome, I might try it.

From "Cycling and your health" at https://www.bycycleinc.com/pages/article_MTJ.html

The Unspoken Secret

There is a little unspoken secret about bicycles that not many people like to mention -- the majority of bicycle seats are really uncomfortable! Most of us have experienced some discomfort in the perineal area or at the ischial tuberosities (the sit bones), especially after long rides. Some of us develop saddle sores that are highly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, some people suffer from genital numbness due to cycling. This numbness can interfere with our sexual functioning and can indicate more serious medical problems, genital pain, urinary tract dlsorders, erectile dysfunction (ED) and localized atherosclerosis.(2)

Why can cycling cause damage to the genital area? When you sit on a firm surface, like a chair, your ischial tuberosities (located at the bottom of your pelvis) bear most of your weight. This part of your body is uniquely designed for sitting and supporting your weight. There are no organs attached to your sit bones, and they are padded by muscle and fat. There is plenty of blood flow through this area, so you can sit comfortably for long periods of time.(3)

Now, think about the size and shape of a bike seat. Most of them are not wide enough to support us directly under our sit bones, especially for women, whose pelvic girdles are wider than men's. As a result, most bike seats make us sit on our perineums, resting on the ischiopubis rami (the connector bones of the anterior pelvis) and the internal part of the genitals. This area of the body was not designed to be weight-bearing.

So you should get a special seat if you wanna ride a bike.

I plugged my stats (6'4", 200) and it pretty much told me I was a giant fatty, although on the normal weight. Ridiciulous as I had a sixer before the summer started and I had to go away for business for two months. I'm probably closer to 12 percent than the 24 it suggested. But the calculator is beneficial if you haven't duilt a decade's worth (or longer) of lean muscle mass

Oh man, I need a decade's worth?

lol... nah man, I just mean unless you are a professional athlete lean muscle mass takes a while to build

LOL, I'm 40 lbs heavier than you dude, and I'm 6'4" and they said I'm 29%. They also said in order for me to be at a healthy weight, I need to be 197 lbs at most.

the calculator is a good back of the napkin type analysis, but there are so many different factors to consider. That number is definitely not binding because it doesn't take into account bone density or dehydration or whatever.

I really have no idea what my body fat count is, but I estimate it like this: 10 percent or less if you have a six pack, 10 to 20 percent if you can see some ab definition (but no six pack), 20+ percent with no abdominal definition.

My "analysis" is severely flawed as body types are different but that's how I estimate that stuff

Q: Doctor, I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it ... don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?
A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms up!

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regularexercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: NoPain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: YOU'RE NOT LISTENING!!! ..... Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around themiddle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans ! Another vegetable!!! It's the best feel-good food around!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?
A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets.

Remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well

preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body

thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

AND.....

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know

the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

CONCLUSION: Eat and drink what you like. Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

Nice!!!! I told you - eating a lot of calories on occasion when you are dieting gives a great positive shock to the metabolism

Seriously though, it is a sign that you have been working hard and eating right so be proud - way to go!

hehe thanks.

I ended up going to AC like I might have said and I'm real happy that didn't effect me much. The goal now is to be hardcore for the next couple of weeks. Then I'm going to AC again for my sisters fiance's bachelor party. It's at the same hotel too! Until then though, it's pure workmode. My goal is to be at the lower end of the 230s by that point. No alchohal from now until then.

BTW. I'm going to the gym today to work on chest, but it looks like I'm going solo as usual. Of course I'm trying to get stronger, but my main goal is to still tone up, keep my metabolism rate up and burn fat. Since I'm going alone, what does everyone think of using the smith machine or would you say that cables are a better bet?

I hit 207.5 yesterday

I used to have a gym partner in college and it was awesome - since then I have been working out alone and don't seem to have a problem using all of the available equipment (free weights and machines) although I don't lift nearly as much. Although it has been a while since I used the cables.

Nice job brotha man.

I hear what you're saying and that's cool for you. I'm just a little paranoyd doing certain free weight things alone, after hearing so many sad stories.
