Oh yeah, Oden very impressive so far!!

Cant understand it, he has the physique, the mentality, the defensive nose, the offensive potential. Where did it all go wrong?

[quote]

I never thought that Oden was going to be the star some thought he'd be!!

where did you ever see offensive potential with oden?

Oden has no real offense, he's a close to the basket and putback guy. Not the kind of player that will get you 20 and 10 on a nightly basis.

what's the deal with the Ohio state kids? Conley has been a disappointment so far, too.

he and oden, were good athletes, not great skilled players..

That cook kid looks better than both so far. He can stroke it...

Physically and - reportedly- mentally, he has the potential to be Duncan. And with his defensive nose and intensity, I dont mean potential like Tim Thomas/KG.

I get the feeling that Odens career so far has been totally derailed by injuries and hes either really frustrated or not working as hard as he should. This guy should be practising elbow jumpers and turnaround babyhooks all day every day. Instead, hes missing dunks, and seems to have Kwame-like hands.

hmm.. physically jerome james can do what duncan does. So just because oden is gifted physically, I don't see how that transfers to offensive skill. He has less lift than he did in college, which may be attributed to weight gain and injuries. But he has no touch, no moves and just horrid footwork.. even at this age, you expect a lot more... He is miles behind a backup like pryzbilla offensively.. how bad is that?

Knicks being badly out-rebounded. Blazers with 52 shots...even though they aren't shooting well, if they continue to get multiple opportunities, this will become a difficult game for the Knicks to win.

Last game the bigs of Golden state were going to destroy the Knicks and Harrington and Lee. Tonight our inside game was going to get overpowered again. Knicks 36 points 11 rebound Lee, Harrington, and Thomas vs Oden Alderidge and Prysybilla 9 points 17 rebounds. If the Knicks could get a center that could play 20 minutes a game their inside game will be much better than it was with Zach. Notice now the Knicks double and rotate something they couldnt do when Zach was there because he refused to play defense.

Totally notice it King. Anyone who says that MikeD isn't stressing defense just simply isn't watching the games.

I agree he looks shocking. But just like you said, compare his lift and footwork, even his bball instincts to what he was like in college and you cant help but think the past year has had a huge affect on his game. He certainly wasnt the next Kwame when he was drafted, but perhaps the frustration of spending his rookie season in surgery and rehab plus the injury itself has ruined a promising career.

If we can get a big not named Jeffries and Mobley back this team could win 35-40 games. Just nice to see the ball moving and the players getting along on the court.
