a Wilson, Gallo & Wallace core? we'll be the next Atlanta Hawks.

Knicks being the next Atlanta for 2008/09.......its better than being bottom of the barrel piece of **** for the last 4 years.

see, this is where we differ... i'm not happy w/just aiming for mediocrity... seems like over the past few years this team's been so bad that a lotta fans have decided anything is better than what we've been watching, even at the cost of mortgaging any future flexibility we have of making some real impactful moves that will bring this team to where we wanna get to later... i'm not willing to settle & would much rather hold out & suffer through a couple more horrible seasons if there's even the possibility of a much larger payback later... i've been through many years of rooting for Knicks teams that didn't quite have what it took to be a championship contender... i'm looking for something more than that, i'm sorry... the absolute last thing i wanna see is for us to become some mediocre team again w/no flexibility to make any trades or draft positioning in the lottery to bring in a real franchise talent to build around.

I feel you...but, if we made this move (Wallace for Curry) as I've stated earlier in this thread, we still have room to manuever. Wallace for Curry actually saves us about 1.7 million and both of thier contracts run past 2010. We still have Lee who is attractive to other teams and maybe we can use Lee to help us unload Craw/or Q's contract.

Lebron or any top FA in 2010 is not coming here just because its NY to play 1 on 5. We need some chips in place. Wallace, Gallo and Chandler is a nice start.

how about our lottery pick this year, Gallo & Chandler? is that gonna be that much different? if we land a top talent like Derozan, Jennings, Mullens, Thabeet, Griffin, Rubio, etc. u don't see that as being a nice core for a guy like Lebron to wanna play around? Gerald Wallace is pretty good but not worth giving up this season's chances of landing a top talent in the draft like that OR mucking up our cap situation beyond 2010... i think u guys are seriously gluttons for punishment at this point... that can be the only explanation.

How about the Lotto-pick, Wallace, Chandler and Gallo? I just think there are too many if's that need to fall into place for us to move forward. With or without Wallace, we are not going to be as bad as last years team. Each player you named we will be top 6. We had the 6th pick last year and as I said we will have a much better record this year. The odds are, we may miss out on all of those guys.

As I stated earlier, replacing Wallace for Currys contract saves us about 1.7 million in 2010. We still have Lee who we can attach to Q or Craw and move that contract out.

Let me ask you, what if we can't get under the cap in 2010 and we miss out on a top 6 pick in this up coming draft? Then what?

The way we are playing now, we probably won't get a top 6 pick. Heck, we may not even get a lottery pick!

I'd do that deal, too. Wallace is a player and a good fit for Mickey D's system. If we did that deal, Wallace would be as productive as anyone on this team.

replacing Curry for Wallace only does 1 thing... brings us a few more wins this season... it does nothing to help us build for a championship, in fact it hurts us in that regard... we have no need for another SF on this team making a big contract unless his name is Lebron, just MO... ur looking for a quick fix solution to a problem that will take years to fix... same old mentality that's landed us in this predicament to begin with... i dunno what needs to happen for some of you guys to get the message that we need to start doing things a different way.

I honestly think dealing Curry for Wallace is a no-brainer. I just want him with the idea that we can get a decent package in return for him from someone else. Wallace is a good player and definitely has trade value, his value is not that of Eddy Curry's and I think Jordan is doing that franchise a great injustice if he deals him for Curry. We could get him and send him elsewhere after 90 days.

i heard all the same things when we made the Zach trade... people telling me it was a no brainer, a deal u simply have to make... given the situation is a little different in that Wallace is not known as a cancer or as a selfish player, but the contract situation is similar in that he's got a 5 year deal that will be hard to move if things don't work out.
