From what with Gallo on defense is even though he struggle it wasn't because of lack of effort & toughness which is usually the case. He went after Trailer & others defensively, even though he got ate up. Which is a good sign. At this point he lacks strength. I think he can be enough of a defender to not be a liability when he gets his weight up. He has long arms, he is tough, he hustles & he has heart. When he grows to 6'11 240 I think he will be okay.

As for rebounding I don't think he will ever be a great defensive rebounder, but he will be a good offensive rebounder. Again he has long arms and lacks strength. He doesn't plant himself in the post enough throughout the game to gobble up rebs.

Its not just one summer league game, its the millions of scouting reports saying the same thing only to watch him do exactly what they that in the first summer league game.

If 10 scouting reports say that a guy is an athletic freak then the guy comes in his first game and does a 360 wind mill dunk in the game. I don't think you need to watch him for a full regular season game to know that the guy is an athletic freak.

So if the knicks plays over their heads in D'antoni's new system and THE GALL is brought along in the rotation, shouldn't he produce being #6 overall with the minutes given to him? Remember he played against and with grown men in a league many say is better than the Plantaion league.

It depends on your definition of project. If it is the stereotypical definition in which a guy is worked on for 5 years only to be a role player, then no that is not what you want from your 6 pick. But if your definition of a project is that the guy will be a contributor in 2-3 years but just isn't ready right now, than who cares. Your team stinks and won't be good for 2-3 years anyway. This argument about it being bad because he is a project is not a very good one. The injury concern seemed like a valid one, but complaining that a 6 pick can't contribute right now isn't one. The Andrew Bynum example above was a good one

Besides the superstar talent in the league, PG's tend to take 3 years before they begin to develop. Does this mean you never take a PG at pick number 6 becuase they are projects?

Nobody would have picked Andrew Bynum at 6, so are you telling me the gall is projected to be better than Andrew bynum?

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

My point is not GM that's getting paid a gazzilion of dollars to evaluate talent picked him until the Fakers did at 10.

No go back and ask those Gm's why they didn't take bynum at #6 and they would all tell you the same thing.

Because MJ is a addicted gambler and he would have loved to look like a genuis taking this chance.

So why did the Wiz take Kwame brown 1?

Why did the bulls take Curry/Chandler 2/4

They are a very cheap franchise that doesn't even want a seasoned coach at the helm who they would have to pay.

They figured they could have two young players and pay them peanuts for a few yrs if they were good.

Chicago is the LA CLIPPERS in the eastern conference.

that's cause you only look at one side without even considering - at least in your posts - other possibilities.

I retorted with 3 HS big men (off the top of my head) that were selected HIGHER than Bynum to prove your point wrong and in turn you just gave me excuses as to why those guys were picked.

21 yr old Lamarcus Aldridge as the #2 pick in the draft averaged 9pts 5rebs 1.2blks, in 63games, 22mins per game his rookie yr.

2 yrs older then Gallo, 2 yrs of NCAA basketball experience, missed 19games his rookie yr. Only played 22mins as the #2 pick.

Whats you guys view of that pick?

NY isn't a cheap franchise when it comes to paying players gm's or coaches.

Chicago is cheap with the coaches and players and gm's they hire. cmon man

Ididn't give you excuses I gave you facts . Jordand is a known addictive gambler, loves to take chances...he took a chance on aguy who didn't have a a real work ethic, the guy didn't even know to take his clothers to the cleaners he just let them pile up in his apartment.= That's a gamble!

Reinsdorf is a cheapskate and everybody knows it, this is why he let Elton Brand go out west .

He thought he could pay these kids chump change compared to brand combined.

in 15 games in march, playing 30 mins a night, he averaged 15/8 with 1.6 blocks. gallinari #'s should escalate as the season goes on.

I personally think that he will have a rough start in the begining then blossom in the final 2 months of the season.

dude, peeps are labelling the kid a bust already & we haven't even played a single regular season game... if Gallo puts up anything less than 12 & 6 this season people are gonna be whining about it like there's no tomorrow, comparing him to Channing Frye or some other type of nonsense.
