i would ideally like to be rid of both Curry & Zach... i could care less about Morris, don't get me wrong... if there's a deal on the table of Zach for Vince & say we can pick up Ben Wallace in that Q Rich package that was being discussed earlier in the week, i'd do it... my main focus is to get some defensive minded frontcourt players on this team cuz right now we have none... if Isiah really wants to go towards a more perimeter oriented team like he's been crowing about the past few days, this is a way to do it... Vince is not my idea of a savior or anything even close to it obviously & he certainly doesn't play any appreciable defense, but we can address that area through other means (Ben, Artest or JO)... those players aren't getting many people excited but it's the reality of our current situation... there's no miracles out there that's gonna vault us to championship contention, but in the meantime we can at least try making some moves that don't kill our cap but address certain needs on the roster.

i don't even really want him on this team, unless we're getting rid of Zach in the process... the best trade to make for Curry would be for expiring contracts at this point, but barring that, IMO standing pat & doing nothing only guarantees we'll be seeing the same crappy basketball we've been witness to for the past few years... just don't give up our draft pick & don't give up D Lee under any circumstances unless it's for a legitimate star player who can make a real impact on this roster... anything else that doesn't kill our future cap is acceptable to me... just my own humble opinion.

I wouldn't trade Randolph for Carter. It's true that cap wise the Knicks don't take on more money but they don't shed any either. I think Randolph should only be traded in a package like what Portland did with us. Lesser contracts and young players. Trading Randolph for Carter would only make the Knicks win more games by clearing the logjam and giving the Knicks an upgrade in character. That's not a good think imo, since we still wouldn't be closer to rebuilding with Carter's long term deal. We'd be in more of a win now situation, since VC is old, and very well paid.

We need to stand pat unless we can get rid of a Curry, Zach or Q in return for a draft pick and someone that won't hurt us too much to take back in the trade. Aren't we all tired of trades for guys like Vince? It hasn't helped us in the past, so what makes this one different?

Let's look to draft a PG leader or defensive anchor in the middle, preferably BOTH and move forward.

ironically, at least one of those three comes off the bench.

why Isiah just hasn't outright benched Curry for Lee yet is mind-blowing

Once we havehad VC for one full season that will be the case with him as well. What do you not get, these guys were starters when they got traded, their so called talent and potential was better than any one on the Knicks at that point and so on, just as you seem to think is the case with VC.

Curry and Crawford were starters based strictly on the situation Pax inherited it. Pax first move as GM was to draft Hinrich to handle play-calling then once they got Gordon the next draft, he shipped Crawford for crap.

Curry never hit 30 minutes per in Chicago. Skiles used him for scoring then benched him when the game was in the balance.

Francis and Steph are close to Carter's talent level however the difference is Vince's willingness at this point in his career to share the ball and set up others as compared to those two when they were acquired. that counts for alot considering how much attention he draws.

The New York Daily News is reporting that even though Pat Riley is denying the Heat have any interest in Knick center Eddy Curry, he did contact Curry's former team, the Chicago Bulls , to gather information on the big man.
