Its funny Berman says jump and the haters say how high.

Bermans motives are always slanted but that doesnt stop the haters since they look for crap to piggy back on.

Qrich says Curry has been working very hard this summer.

Aguire says that Curry has been working very hard this summer.
Bermans posts crap and the haters fall in to the Sh*% in their hurry to throw it.

Making sense and stating facts are out of bounds/against the rules, when it comes to bashing Curry. Dont waste your time.

I don't think anyone has a problem with QRich/Aguirre saying these things Beast, but the problem is that they said them last year and Curry was still in camp out of shape. He even worked with Grover last summer. How is that hating?

As has been said repeatedly. If he shows up in camp in shape, wonderful. Past history says otherwise. It would be the first time in seven years, other than a contract year, that he actually made an effort. Is it wrong to assume that this is fodder? Take into account past history and how lazy Curry has been when ON the court -- well, I think you just have to judge for yourself. If you were satisfied with how he played last season, wonderful. I thought he was awful last season -- almost on par with the horrid seasons Channing Frye and Jared Jeffries had. It's okay to be satisfied with someone having a low ceiling, but that player doing everything in their power to achieve it. That's effort. Myself and many others are not satisfied with a player having a high ceiling and only not nearing that ceiling due to laziness. When that changes, so does the criticism.

Curry came into camp out of shape last year? Hadn't heard.

Looked to me like he came in to camp ready to put in 35 mpg for 81 games.

You all have to get real.

This is an interesting take. Watching the game last night Aguirre seemed to be raving about Curry.

When has Aguirre not raved about Curry? He raved about him last year and he came into camp out of shape as well. I'm just sayin...

Remember how much he raved about Sweetney? It's his job to rave about our big men

Since he put in nearly ZERO effort on defense for an entire season, you could reasonably say he put in 17.5 mpg for 81 games.

This notion of minicamp is ridiculous. If you look around the league instead of the Knick bubble you would see that most veterans don't show up for "mini-camp"(when did this become football?). This is unimportant. Eddie and Zach aren't going to gel in one short week. The important thing is that our players are strengthening and healing their bodies, working on their games and getting in shape and ready for the pre-season. This is when the gelling will take place.

Now the question is, are our players doing this? Of course going by track record we can guess that most of them are slacking. But as much as I doubt the players on this roster I still have to wait until the season starts before I can truly make this determination.

Great points here, Bip.

but then you have to take into account that he didn't do anything on offense either when the ball wasn't in his hands!

And Jeffries and James should definitely be there too. James is lazy and doesn't care about basketball. I'm quite surprised to hear that Jeffries didn't go, though.

Defensively, yes, he wasn't very good. Offensively, Curry was a monster and forced other teams to gameplan and double him. He did avarage a career high in rebounds (yes, 7 isn't enough for a starting center, but for him, it was an improvement from years past). To put his season on par or even remotely close to Channing Frye just isn't paying attention.

Eddy had a career year last year. I thought his effort and conditioning were excellent.

His play at the defensive end, and rebounding has never been his strong part of his game.

IMHO, Eddy had a great Eddy season and while I would like for him to expand his game, that might not be in the cards.

Eddy was in shape last season.

The girlfriends I've had (at least the ones I enjoyed being with) have always wanted me to succeed at what I do. They'd want me to go to the training camp and probably feel guilty if I didn't go so I could celebrate with them something I could have celebrated a few days later.

Sorry Bonn, but now we know you don’t have a lady. You might as well have said your girlfriends breasts feel like bags of sand.

While comparing our own sacrifices we make for work vs. family, we should note how many of us have jobs that have us away from home and family for at least a full 1/4 of the year traveling to 14 different cities. How many of us are in a line of work that attracts easy women like flies, and where meeting at a strip club after a day of work is probably as common as meeting at the local watering hole is for us. If someone here does have that job, maybe they should post on the sacrifices their wives have made to make the relationship work year in and year out, and how said wife would feel if they skipped out on a week of family time for an event that is largely an excuse to hang out in Las Vegas.

In short, I’m with Bip. Nothing sets off this board like speculation on Eddy’s weight and conditioning. A bunch of old ladies at the park indeed.

Anyone up for a game of mahjong?

Agreed. If anyone responds to this with "Well my girlfriend..." Just hit delete before you finish your nonsensical pgh and save the married men the trouble.

Anniversary vacations last more than one day. They get scheduled mmonths in advance. Eddy didn't even know Aguiree was hatching this idea up when he scheduled his vacation.

Yeah, because when the team gets together at summer league it isn't something planned out in advance.

When you have 5 months off and tens of millions of dollars, vacations can be planned that afternoon. Or maybe you think Curry is on Travelocity months in advance, booking his trip?

"Honey, I'm sorry but I have to postpone our trip for a few days. To make it up to you, we'll go away for 3 months instead of just 2."

that's crap man.

You could also say that Aguire knew when Eddy's vaca schedule was going to be and didn't make 1 iota of effort to plan around it or at least make an effort to post-pone it by a week.

Isles, you know how much planning went into Eddy's vaca? Cause I wanna know how many people were going, how many extended family members, how long and where. I hear those trips down to the Caribbean for a week can be re-arranged for 12 poeple in a day on Travelocity lickity-split.

Just cause summer Leauge is happening doesn't mean big men were going to show up. And Randolph was just traded for a couple of weeks ago, right? Curry was supposed to re-adjust for that?

You are about as far out as nixluva is some times.

Islesfan is the Pat Buchanan to nixluva's Dennis Kucinich.

But at least nixluva posts like a Knicks fan on a Knicks fan site. Who knows while Islesfan is here.

Yeah Drew, that was me having my feelings hurt because the Answerman posts his Vegas Vacation update on here, instead of for his true buds from the Times.

I don't begrudge anyone spending their time on the site. I am just astonished daily how often the hater's rhetoric here is actual, verifiable, hate. You got Solace on here today suggesting we shoot Curry and Marbury. And as unhappy as I was in the Layden days with our slow and old team captained by the one-dimensional Allan Houston, I don't recall ever starting a thread making up abusive nicknames for our best player and another who hasn't even pulled on a Knick uni yet.

Its cool, and I know I'm going to be accused of making a big deal out of nothing. But you asked.

Bingo.

When did this voluntary TEAM get together get organized? I started hearing about it at the start of SL. When do vacations have to be planned?

Yeah, Bingo that.

Yeah, Drew, we're all free men (those of us not living under the fat thumbs of our wives, that is).

I'm free to ask why Isles bothers contributing here. Just like you are free to allow posts that suggest our players should be executed while locking a thread because you got called a buffoon.

It’s all good.
