We heard the same things before his first year here too as soon as he signed with the Knicks.
Actually, just the opposite. When he signed here we heard he would have to work himself into shape over the season as he was forced to limit his workouts that summer due to the suspected heart problem.
And yes, we heard similar words last year prefacing a break-out season where he played 81 games at 35 mpg. So your point is what, exactly?
I have never bought into the easy short-hand that Eddy is a lazy fat-ass who thinks he can coast on his god-given abilities and not put in the work needed to improve. Never got that impression from the young man, not since he has been a Knick.
I do think he is a sensitive soul who responds well to positive encouragement, not so well to the derision he received from his coaches on the Bulls. Take that as a negative if you want, something else to bash him for, I think it is what it is.
Larry Brown called Curry the team's franchise player, and he responded by putting in the best off-season of his career followed by his best season. Now that he is actually being
treated like a franchise player, I expect bigger and better things.
Obviously, we'll have to wait and see. But keep those Twinkie jokes coming in the meantime.
