i don't think you trade kobe, no matter what the circumstances.

how does an organization lose shaq AND kobe in a matter of 3 years?

you ADD to the mix - you trade lamar + bynum and get the best big man available, which may be enough for jermaine or zach.

lakers trading kobe...about a 2% chance of happening. (and 2% is high)
DJ,
Kobe said there is nothing they can do. those are some strong words, you can't back down from.

Wanna bet?

I knew Kobe was arrogant and stubburn. I knew his wife pretty much p***y whipped him and had his mind going in all kinds of directions when he publicly accused Karl Malone of hitting on her. I knew he could not get along with teammates and was not a great leader in that he did no inspire his team to greater heights. But I never thought Kobe was an idiot until yesterday. What is this guy doing? Why is he publicly airing all this stuff when (a) he is going to again tarnish his image which he had begun to rehabilitate; (b) there is little chance the Lakers are trading him until next year when they might have to because he can opt out; (c) any trade will likely result in him going to a team that is going to take 2-3 years to recover from the assets they gave up to get him; (d) the tactic of demanding that your current GM and owner hire West to replace the current GM is just unheard of; and (e) to bring up the Shaq issues and try to dispute that you ran him out, when you did run him out or at least did not try to stop him being run out, two years after the fact is just stupid. A guy of Kobe's stature should have handled the situation better and really, did Michael Jordan have that much more to work with than Kobe. Yeah, Lamar Odom is not Scottie Pippen, but I would think with their draft pick, Odom, and Bynum, they should be able to work out some kind of trade. Hell, their pick, Farmer, Odom, and Bynum would not be a bad deal for Garnett or O'Neal.

Just heard Kobe interview with Dan Patrick. The guy still sounded like he wanted to be traded although he backed tracked a little.

Bryant Again Says He Wants Out
31st May, 2007 - 10:39 am
The Los Angeles Times -

After saying that he wanted to be traded on ESPN Radio early yesterday, and then seemingly retracting that demand later in the day, Kobe Bryant spoke to The Los Angeles Times late in the afternoon yesterday and said he still wanted off the Lakers.

At 5:27 PM, Bryant affirmed his first position as stated on the air yesterday morning.

"Nothing's changed," Bryant said. "It's just a matter of I don't want to go no place else. I don't have much of a choice. When things like this go down, you just sit back. What can I do? It's like a broken record."

When asked if he still wanted to be traded, Bryant reportedly expressed no hesitation or doubt in quickly answering "Yes."

Apparently, he wants to be traded again. Or maybe he doesn't.

Is it wrong that I was almost in tears laughing after reading this?

kobe is backtracking. that is not cool. I am a kobe fan, but right now he sounds like an emotional, confused woman.... I wish he stop, I really love the guy as a player, but as a man, geez, he leaves little to be desired....

tkf you really should think this over more thoroughly. KOME is a FRAUD MENTAL CASE. There's absolutely no reason anyone with integrity should support him in any way.

The knicks would have to throw just about everything we have for Kobe.

Frye, Lee, Balkman, Nate, 23rd pick, 2008 pick and Francis
for
Kobe, Cook and Radman

I would it.

Curry
sign some Aaron willials type forward
Kobe
Crawford
Marbury(don't care if the want Marbury instead of francis)
Collins, JJ2, Q, Rose, Morris, Vald, Cook off the bench

That's a very good team........ have to get this deal done.

True, I don't know about the FRAUD thing. Is Kobe a bit rehearsed and phony to some degree? I guess you can say that, a lot of celebrity athletes and stars are, is he not sincere? I don't think so, he just wants to win, and he does win, and the fact is, that he is the best on this planet at what he does. Do you understand that? out of billions of people on this earth, he is the best! Sometimes people like that get cooky, confused, come off arrogant, complain, demand, etc. Do you not think that sucessful people, the Trumps, Cubans, gates, not go through similar moments, may come off as arrogant, brash, and maybe even sometimes backstabbing? I am not saying it is the right way to be, but it seems to be a constant among very succesful people, not all sucessful people, but some..... I don't know what you expect of Kobe, the guy has 3 rings, scored 81 points ina game, is the most exciting player in the league, sells tickets, jerseys, is completely and I mean completely dedicated to his craft like none other and wants to win. how can you find fault with that? in the end say what you want, but the league would be 100x better if half of the guys took their jobs as serious and were as dedicated as he is...

Kupcake should have been shot as soon as Steven A hung up the phone with Kobe yesterday.

That is good deal. Lakers get the best young front court in the League behind Oden/Aldrigde/Pryz with Bynum/Lee/Frye/Turfia.
THey get picks, Nate and Balkman. They can rebuild like they are hoping to do after Francis/Odom come off the books. It's way better then the shaq deal and we don't want Bynum like the Bulls deal and/or take away their chance to get under the cap in two years.

It's pretty good if they really want to go forward under the cap with Bynum.

He trains like a beast that much I know but that dedication leads to such player thinking he's above the law of the sport. Can you imagine a starting 5 of all KOME's? Who shoots the ball, who passes, which one calls the plays, which one tells the coach "You Coached Stupidly", which one let's player go for 81pts. I'll take less KOMEs and give me more Deron Williams, Luol Dengs, Steve Nashs, etc etc.

If what Kobe has said about Buss letting him take the fall for Shaq. Then thats just messed up. Thats very cowardly for the owner.

How do you let your star player take the fall like that. He should have stood up for him. Said that it as his decision. That he just didn't want to pay Shaq that much because of his age and the fact that he misses so much time do to injuries. That it wasn't Kobe that forced Shaq out. If that was the truth he should have stated it.

I think Kobe kinda lost it and was not thinking on SAS.

I think Jax kinda played his Jedi Mind tricks on him and convinced him it don't matter what the Buss's do, its about the city, the team, and his wife. YEah, she matters, she is an LA girl.

I thought Kobe was just going off and was mad.

My guess he sits down with his agent and figures each trade scenario and whether he lands on a team then depleted and in the same boat as he is now, or is there an advantage to going to a Chicago or Knick team after a trade.

Unless the Lakers are still high on Frye, I doubt we have the assets unless the Lakers want Marbury. Marbury, Frye, Lee, Nate and our pick for Kobe and Radman is probably the best we could do. Assuming Francis, who we would probably then keep, decided to play team ball instead of his one man show game, we would have a pretty good lineup in Crawford, Kobe, Balkman, Morris, Curry, with Francis, Q, Collins, and Rose coming off the bench. We would probably have to make another trade to get another PF.

I think you're right. Talk out of LA is that he would like to play with Curry and Marbury on the Knicks and doesn't want any team he is traded to get rid of their best players for him. Good luck with that Kobe.

LOL They are roasting Kobe on the TNT Halftime of Pistons Cavs game.

Charles interrupted a segment to answer his cell phone to inform them that "Kobe doesn't want to be traded".

They go to commercial after their segment, come back, talk about coaching movement, and then Ernie ask Charles for an update.

Charles says "Kobe just texted him and said he changed his mind again and wants to be traded".

I caught that.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.
