I can deal with it - apparently yo can't - otherwise you would post less invective and more information.

So let's start at the draft shall we:(all numbers taken from www.nba.com/players

We have in 2001:

Player/points scored

1st round
Kwame Brown-2,968
Curry-6,638
Dalembert 3248
Chandler -3667
Michael Bradley-483
Troy Murphy-4,992
Jason Collins-2,276
Brendon Haywood-3624

2nd round

Mehmet Okur-5,695
Ruben Boumtje Boumtje
Steven Hunter-1742
Jarron Colins-1974

So it looks like - he has scored more points than anyone he was drafted with.

For comparison -a few other numbers of other centers:

Dampier from 1997 to today-6,194
Nazr Mohammed - from 1997 to today-3,993
Darko-1,318 from 2003
B. Miller-7,499 from 98 - 2 time all-star
Amare Stoudemire-7,178-from 2002- 4 time all-star
Joe Smith -1995 -till now 10,396
Rasha Nesterovic -4,500 from 1998 till now
Chris Mihm- from 2000 -3,222 pts.
Ilgauskus-8,978 2 time all star

Anyway - I think you get the point - and Curry is not even playing much this seson and still is close to 7K points!!

So -although - he may not play defense and rebound - comparatively -scoring wise for a center - he is just below all-star numbers. That is my response - even if Isiah stinks. I am sure it is de rigeur to diminish other people's accomplishments at the highest level- however - a little respect may be in order - considering he is just 25 this year.

dude, you want to talk about facts, lets talk about how curry was drafted in arguably the worst draft class of the past decade. wow, he scored more points than kwame brown, the worst number one pick of all time. he scored more than the collins twins combined!

what is your point? curry still sucks, whether you want to include his 6K total points or if you want to include the pages and pages of stats backing up his poor skills as a passer, defender, and rebounder. not to mention he is overpaid AND we gave up two LOTTERY PICKS in drafts that were better than the one he was in.

no respect is due, the guy sucks. he is a cry baby, he is not a good teammate, and he has never been on a winning team. you're comparisons are pathetic, wow, he has more than rasho nesterovic! amazing.

here is a list of players the knicks could have drafted if isiah was smart enough to protect the picks.
06
tyrus thomas
brandon roy
randy foye
rudy gay
07
joakim noah
acie law
julian wright
rodney stuckey
marco bellineli
sean williams

honest to god i'd rather have a random selection of players from those drafts than having fat, lazy, and low BBALL IQ eddy curry on my team. regardless of his 6k points, he sucks. case closed.

That's a great way to put it. I'd rather have even a random selection of the available players than EY/Starbury.

since we're lamenting we may as well include the 04 draft class in the discussion.

start it off with probably the most sombering of realities:

DWIGHT HOWARD COULD'VE POSSIBLY BEEN A KNICK

AL JEFFERSON would've been a nice consolation for not winning the lottery
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

isiah is fair to say that developing Bynum would have been tough being NY. Fans are intolerant and impatient. Jefferson has taken a few years to become solid, and As great as HOward is, he does not dominate enough to consisatantly carry his team on his back.

Maybe fair to say in this thread that there are not many star players to come out the last few years.

It may be fair to say that building around solid fundamantal kids from solid fundamental backgrounds (good family, or winning contributers, or winning teams) will yield chemistry and born from that could emerge star players. We need to enhance ability not just isolate each player.

nalod, i've gotta disagree with you.

first off, this notion of new york fans being too tough is just bizarre to me. the yankees wallowed in the bottom of the division for the 80s and early 90s, now the fans are back because they are good. if the knicks were that bad and rebuilding, people would just not show up. why would new yorkers buy tickets just to heckle players who were young and learning on the fly? thats ludicrous. i'd rather have a guy come in and say "its going to take 3 years but we'll turn it around" than have a guy come in and lie to our faces and use this entire "NY is a place where you can't rebuild" nonsense.

i don't see why dwight howard or al jefferson could have been knicks? in 04 we drafted ariza, i dont think we had a lotto pick that year.

either of those 2 could've been Knicks if the Steph trade had not happened.

For that Go back to the 2004 draft. We gave up our pick (16) for Marbury.

We could have had-

Josh Smith, Jameer Nelson, Kevin Martin,
