The Knicks of legend primarily did an excellent job of playing defense and getting the hot man the basketball. That improvised recognition, and ball movement, was a thing of beauty.
Could the first and third quarters be evidence of this revised Knicks rotation becoming more aware of an alternate style of play? Along with getting Eddy Curry the ball, the concept of encouraging Channing Frye to get his shot early made his 10 point first quarter complimentary fun.
Later in the game, with confidence, Frye stayed involved and provided the outside threat. Balkman turned up the pressure and if he makes his free throws, is looking at a 20 point effort. Not bad for a rookie.
Tuesday night against Dallas.
Go Knicks

And when Crawford, Lee and Q return do we have to suck again while everyone relearns their roles?
See I think we have this commonality of mediocrity on this team, such that we don't take too big a hit when guys are injured because the starters aren't much better/different from the bench. Conversely, when they return we also don't get much better - in fact we're often worse as guys are uncomfortable sharing minutes.
So it's splendid that Frye and Balkman had games today that compensated for the loss of Lee and Q, but did we become
better or simply regain our buoyancy of mediocrity? Was this a new system, or just the "2nd unit" hustling for a spell as they've always done?
