I wouldn't give Jeffries too many minutes. Maybe 10-12 per game.

Not enough. We need his D.

So what's your front court breakdown in minutes?

Play Jeff only at the 3. That's where he's needed the most.

Great win. Marbury played incredible on both sides of the ball -- great to see. Curry/Frye/Lee all played wonderful and I thought we were really getting killed by the refs. Crawford was on tonight and didn't take as many ridiculous shots but still chucked up a few. If I were Isiah I'd tell him the only 3's he should be taking are catch and shoot.

Our pick and roll defense is still awful -- I like the idea of trying to go over screens when the other team is in shooting distance but too many times they'll set a screen pretty close to midcourt and Crawford will still try to go over it and it mineaswell be a fast break. Guys really need to talk and we need to go under the screens when they're that far out.

Balkman was out of control. His d was ok but was in the air too much and trying to make the incredible block. I love his energy but he needs to communicate on rebounds -- at least once a game he tips it out when a teammate easily has the rebound.

Rotation should be 9 guys with Balkman only getting about 15 mins and Cato only getting about 10. It's a shame that I just don't trust Zeke will play Cato over James or not start Jefferies. Nate, Collins, Rose, Francis, James shouldn't play at all.

If the defensive intensity is there every game, this team has a chance to really be pretty good.

I would definitely continue to go with the front line we have now. If it aint broke dont fix it. However, Lee is still having problems guarding some of the quicker SF's. Jeffries needs to get his minutes at the 3 and some at the 4. Between the 3-4 JJ2 can get about 22-25 minutes per.

The Knicks were awesome. It was one of the first games this season where we felt bigger than the other team--- a big part of that is swinging Lee over the SF (and not having the undersized Q at SF). We also used all of our big men out of necessity.

Balkman was a little aggressive pushing guys out of the way on picks, but hey, isn't that how you're supposed to play-- ya know, fighting through screens? Say what you want about him, but Balkman is a big disruptor on defense, and he's pushing the action on offense even when he's not scoring.

The Bulls' lack of size was exposed-- I don't know how they expect to go deep in the playoffs with a team that features like six 6'8" players who all play the same position-- tweener forward.

The Knicks get another opportunity for a win tomorrow against Philly, who incidentally, won broke their losing streak tonight. Our superior height should prove to be an asset against their team. If Dalembert gets into foul trouble early, they're going to be in big trouble. Iguodala should be a tough match up for teams, but at the same time, he's a very smooth player--- he only takes shots in the flow. The players to watch for (imho) are Willie Green and Kyle Korver. Green has the same no-conscience mentally as Iverson, and Korver is a dead-eye 3pt shooter. We're particularly terrible when other teams' outside shooters are hot.

For the record, we're .5 games out of first place now. :)

Big lineup is where it is at. Big helps in basketball.

Will we have some trouble guarding the quicker front courts? Yes.

But can they guard us? Can the keep us off the boards? Will we contest shots?

Bigger is better.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

What a GREAT win. This was big. I was not at all expecting a win tonight.

I'd like to see Isiah go with an 8 man rotation once everyone gets back.

Curry
Frye
Lee
Jamal
Marbury

Q, Jeffries, Balkman off the bench.

i like this line up, I would want to add cato to the mix to sub for curry. So make that 9 man rotation, he really clogs the paint.

I am so proud of the way the boys played tonight. Everyone chipped in and really played their ***es off. Lee, Frye, Curry, Crawford and especially MARBURY played great tonight. This is exactly why all you Marbury haters are WRONG. The Knicks are their best when Marbury is playing his best. We need someone to hit our big shots and be a go to guy and Steph CAN be that for us. Sure Jamal can do it but we need Steph. Also, Lee and Frye are just machines right now. They get after everything. Curry was a beast tonight. Crawford was on fire. And Balkman was all over the place. Very, very pleased. Great night.

And one other thing, what a sad, sad state of affairs it is on this site, when the Knicks play their best game in a LOOOOONG time and there are only 4 pages worth of posts. Why do some of you guys even follow this team if you hate them so much? There is a contingent of guys who ONLY post when the Knicks are playing poorly. I've said it before and I'll say it again, some of you "fans" disgust me.

Anyhow, great effort tonight. Lee, Frye and Balkman can rebound with anyone. Ben Wallace was out there tonight and DLee did his thing regardless. I don't think we're gonna win the championship or anything but there is no reason we can't take the division and get that high seed. It's all about effort and execution. Good stuff.

good post but go easy on them..its a friday night you can't expect someone to be able to watch every game. I used to watch every game as a teenager but it was easier to do then. Also most fans, actually all fans want to see there team do well...they just want to see big wins like tonight before buying into everything. I guarantee you after tonight big win, now that they finally had a big win against a really tough team at home, the outlook from knick fans is going to be a lot more positive.

This is true; what will really make the fans happy is if they finish strong against philly and make it 4 straight going into the holiday. There really is no reason for us to lose tomorrow's game, yet with the way we have been this year, nothing is a given. If they win tomorrow, it really says alot to me.

What a great game for the Knicks! It seems that almost everyone played well today and thats a huge plus. I thought Eddy did a great job with Ben Wallace and that the Knicks as a collective team did a great job with stopping Hinrich/Deng/Gordon. Great game for the Knicks, now lets go beat the 76ers!

exactly we needed a win against a tough team like chicago but we absolutely have to beat Philly if we are finally turning the corner. I just look at the team right now with Curry, Frye, Lee, crawford, marbury, jeffries, balkman and cato and I can say I finally feel like we're headed in the right direction

I really want us to be the sixers but honestly guys, with the way they're playing this year... would we really be surprised if they got blown out tomorrow?
