So,fish.mike you main problem with the acquisition of Eddy Curry is the loss of first round draft picks?

Or are you really missing the roller coaster formerly known as Tim Thomas and the brand new heavy, Mike Sweetney?

I suppose we can track the parallel progress of what Chicago does...

I'd rather pull for the Knicks to get it together with their new young, frontcourt combinations.

It's a new season

The only thing I want to see is this team get a set rotation and jell. Its gonna be a much better year for this team and so far its looking better already, so what's the problem? Isiah in my eyes has begun to deliver on what he promised and this year will vindicate his time here in NY. He's been slammed pretty hard on his GM moves, but despite the many moves, he seems to have stuck with his original vision for the team. He DID make this team younger, longer and more athletic. We might add more talented and BIGGER too. Now he's going to work on giving this team an identity and a style of play that they can actually achieve. Rather than fighting uphill to do what LB was asking. This roster clearly has to play ball a different way than a Pistons type of team does. We don't have the same type of players. WHY, cuz Isiah had a different vision for this team and he wasn't trying to make this team into the Pistons. No GM gets everything they want and Isiah has had to make some concessions.

So what we have now is a nice group of bigs and some combo guards. Its not a textbook roster for sure, but one that should be able to run Isiah's system and win games. Hopefully this year will go well and we'll have a chance to find a SG that is a better fit and maybe move out a couple of players that don't quite fit. Til then lets just watch and root for this team, cuz its gonna be a better year than any we've had recently.

Isiah forces them to practice after a tough loss

Rather than mess with his mental rehab, he forces Channing Frye to play through a slow start

Then he calls off practice after benching Steve Francis

He yanks Stephon for an entire half

He auditions Balkman then sits him

He auditions Jerome James and sits him

Then he sits Steve Francis and then quickly reverses field and starts him again

Steve goes for 17 and then 22

David Lee nearly busts a triple freakin' double

He makes players earn minutes

Damn that Isiah Thomas for being so tough on his players

IT the coach is starting to get into his groove. These two games against Chicago will be a telling sign. The Knicks have all the reasons in the world to win these games. Skiles is a solid coach but I would not call him a master strategist. Can IT outcoach him and get his players to outplay the Bulls. It should be interesting to watch.

I'm jus' sayin'

Bootleg Post of The Day

(with a sincere apology to ex.machina in an alternate Knicks universe)

Look at the signature trades and drafts: The Curry trade begins to look like we got the franchise center we sought. Q is playing great at both ends, specially D. Lee is all-favorite.

Nate is still learning, and a piece of work, but a force. We'll see what Jamal does with starting minutes, but he sure can light it up, and his chemistry with Curry is special. Marbury, we'll see, but I see signs, at least on offense, and he tries hard on D. (I exempt the Francis deal from Isiah's watch, and even that may not turn out so bad.) JJames? He's still big.

Then there's Balkman, no matter how much I lust after Marcus Williams. All this with Channing and Jeffries on their way back. I'm excited. Yes, I am.

Go, Knicks.
