Hold on a second guys and lets clear the air.

Take a sip of this delicious Kool Aid (Orange and Blue drink).

I for one am happy to see this decision made. It should have happened a long time ago. Do I respect Brown as a coach? Sure - but he f-ed up in a major way this past year. I think Thomas has a better chance at getting through to these guys and I hope he succeeds. There is no doubt in my mind he can do a better job with this group of players then LB did trying to tank the season.

IT is not a bad coach, he did well in Indiana and got dumped by Bird. Have they done anything since he left? No. Lets see how the draft plays out, lets see how the players respond to the man who brought them all here, and lets all hope for a better season. I think there are good things ahead for us.

I have a hard time comparing Isiah to Riley. The difference is that Riley set his championship caliber roster first and then coached that roster. We are trying to build from a crap team to a good one. As coach/GM of a championship caliber roster it's okay to make a risky move that you think will get you over the hump. It's your job to make moves according to your record. But as caoch of a mediocre team you can't operate this way. But as GM/coach this is going to be the way you operate because you have to save your job.

I think so many are so happy that LB is fired that they are seeing a tough situation as a good situation. I guess you have to be from out of state to truly understand how embarrassing we were before LB got here.

SAS: Dolan wanted to fix this mess, and Larry wanted Steph, Francis, and Rose to go. (Two of which he wanted).

My observations:

1.) I'm glad it's over
me too

2.) Obviously hiring Isiah was not part of a long-term plan so as of this moment we are again starting from scratch. Hopefully we can make moves to move forward.
right there with ya

3.) GM and coach? When has this been successful? I will be rooting for Zeke to do well but it frustrates me to know end that once again we are placing a coach in position to fail.
Riley and Miami Heat

4.) If the team does poorly Isiah will be fired. We all know this. The players know this too. They once again have a built in excuse. Great!!
ofcourse, but maybe they all know that if they don't perform then they are goners as well...Glass is half Full bip, half FULL. try saying things like...If they succeed then...it great being positive when you have young kids in the house.

5.) This upsets me for one reason. Once again it shows that the Knicks have no long-term plan or are once again adjusting one.
long term plan = young and athletic, before LB it was coming to fruition, with LB we had to trade for a Jrose or Franchise or eric snow or or or...but now we can continue rebuilding with our youth.

6.) Dragging this out had nothing to do with the team and everything to do with Dolan's wallet.
Dragging this out had to do with not paying LB $50 million for 23 wins. It's the off season, the only people that really pay attention to it are bulletin board posters...I have knick fans in the office here that didn't even know he was going to get fired and they are season ticket holders. So stop acting like dragging this out affected anybody but UltimateKnicks and Larry Brown.

7.) If Isiah is fired who the hell will ever coach here? I can understand wanting Larry out but what NY fan in their right mind would think the way this is handled is a good thing.
Isiah won't be fired, he's going to stabalize the ship and win atleast 10 more games than last year, 33 wins is horrible, but not enough to fire the coach when he improved over the previous year AND didn't add any more clowns to the roster, but I think we will win more than 33 , we won 33 the year before...remember glass half full, think of little bip, he can't grow up hating the knicks because his father hates Dolan.

8.) Stephon is the only player on this roster without a built in excuse.
True, we suck and he's gone by the trading deadline, no if's and's or but's, but like I said, we win 10 more games and he's back to being important again, we go .500 he gets a billboard and if we make the playoffs, he's back to New York's favorite son (remember when he was that only 2 years ago)

9.) Just once I'd like to see us hire a proven winner at GM or coach or both and stick to a long-term plan instead of making trades based on the current record.
Keep dreaming and be happy we have what we have...just once I'd like to win the championship. Beggers can't be choosers. Just once I'd like to see some rah rah go knicks out of you.

10.) Can we do anything as an organization with dignity? My guess is no.
if this were the middle of america, say denver, nobody would have even have noticed, but because it's new york, it seemed like there was no dignity, but LB was half culpable in how this went down, he could have stepped up publicly and stated that he was sorry for the way he acted and was looking forward to next year, instead it was a public pissing match and the owner always wins (see detroit)

Quit your bitching, it's just another coach...we havne't won a title in 23 years...what's another year...one thing, last year under LB was not only unbearable to the players, but to the fans as well...now we get to see Crawford and Curry and Frye and Lee in all their glory, running the floor and defending with Starbury...I mean, how can you not like that line up...Lee is going to get better at defense, he's our Jeff Foster.

Either you are with us or against us, but don't say you are a knick fan and then after the first blowout make a topic about how you hate the knicks.

This chapter is closed, get over it.

I love ya bip, and you say you are a coach, coaches get fired for not getting results, even that drunk in hoosiers was able to get some wins...the bad news bears collection of misfits also were able to win.

Coaching is all about the players believing in their coach (see Heat) and these players all know their careers basically rest in succeeding and the only person in the entire world that actually believes in this collection of lovable losers!

I do as well.

Larry Brown met with Mills, Dolan, etc. and asked about what players would be "deleted" from the roster, and Dolan said enough you're fired.

For Knicks fans it would be better off if Brown was here becuase he'd the choice would be with him and the malcontents would be gone. How can some of you not see that? Players like Marbury, Francis, Rose are not good for this team or ANY TEAM for that matter!

"I think Thomas has a better chance at getting through to these guys and I hope he succeeds."

So this is how we operate. We are hiring coach's based on whether they can get through to the players and make them play hard. And if they can't we fire them. Great strategy.

Better by record alone.
Posted by McK1:
Curry, Frye, David Lee, Nate Robinson, Jamal Crawford, Jackie Butler, Quentin Richardson.

Quit believing LB and the media, we're stacked and young and they will all have had a year under their belts, for pete's sake, 3 of them were ROOKIES.

LB & the media has nothing to do with why there are 7 teams in the East better than NY right now and 3 more that will be around vying for the 8.

In plain print Bip, LB is gone, stop believing his bullcrap.

http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/story/428851p-361625c.html
Channing Frye, Nate Robinson and David Lee are all expected to play for the Knicks' entry in the Vegas Summer League, and it is highly unlikely - not to mention counterproductive - to have a lame duck coach running the practices. Dolan and Thomas felt that Brown had a negative influence on many players last season, chief among them Frye and Robinson. Assistant coach Herb Williams is expected to coach the summer-league team.

the one's that played hard and will continue to play hard.
Posted by Bippity10:

It's ironic because if you take Curry out of the mix the guys you listed were the only guys to play hard for Larry all year long. Don't remember Larry bashing that group.

I think it's possible that Marbury will be traded. Dolan hates it when his employees air their grievances in the media. He can't be happy with Marbury's role in what has transpired.

rvhoss: When have I ever made a post about how I hate the Knicks? Why do you people responded to my posts if you are going to make things up. It's insane. Enlightent me RV, what is the Knicks plan?

Please read my posts before responding. I am a die hard Knicks fan. I am one of the few on this site that actually ask questions about what the Knicks are going to do as opposed to rooting for or against LB. I root for the Knicks every game. I did not miss a game this past year. With Zeke as coach none of that will change. When we lose a game and people blame Zeke's rotations and who he had on the bench I will remind you that we did the same with Don, and Lenny and Herb and Larry. But despite the fact that I am a a huge Knicks fan I don't believe in standing pat or hoping to make the 8th seed. I believe in being critical of a roster that won 23 games. I beleive in being critical of an organization that goes from 40 wins to 35 wins to 23 wins and makes trades based on making the 8th seed. I beleive being critical is the only way to get better. Sitting back and maintaining the status quo just because you like the players is bad business. I pray that Zeke does not think this way.

Zeke put down the kool-aid and think smart!

Yeah baby, hey, an actual knick fan among us. I'm shocked.

I'm waiting to see fish and islesfan come with their I Hate the KNicks bull crap as well...what more can they say that they already haven't said? They will just cut and paste their whining and moaning from the last 29 days.

It's a new day for the knicks, try saying something new haters.

Zeke did a great job in Indiana with a bunch of kids and one veteran that at the time was seen as not a star (reggie).

Al harrington, J oneal, jeff foster all nobody's that became somebody under Zeke.

Take your crying to the yahoo bulletin boards, ultimateKnicks if for knick FANS. That's why I post.

Ain't nobody bringing me down baby! Go KNICKS!

You say Crap, I say young and inexperienced.

I'll take Crawford, Lee and Frye and curry with 2 to 3 more years on their careers than Jwill, Toine, Shaq and Mourning with 3 more years on their careers.

We'll be sweeping THEM out of the playoffs.

Look to the future, stop staying in the past. It's a new day for the knicks...are you with us or against us?

One problem down, many more to go. THose that will miss Larry Brown are either nuts or just didn't see anything that happened last season. The Knicks have become the joke of the NBA and someday they had to start cleaning up the mess, and there was no way that Larry Brown should've been brought back after all his questionable coaching and all the terrible soap opera about the players and his comments on the media. We are a better team right now just for having him gone, no matter how "Hall of Fame" great he is.

Next up in line is Isiah. This is now his time to deliver or to be fired for good. Its a win-win situation for the franchise. As for Dolan, lets start the process with the protest at MSG and we'll see what happens.

This is still a terrible mess and we are still a joke, but with Brown down, we rid ourselves of many, MANY problems...

Exactly, browns' way would have been another 23 win season or two...you think brown would have stayed around for it to get better? I mean, do you think he was really going to stay around for 4 years?
