i just dont understand how we can just look so bad on defense all of a sudden...i really thought we were starting to look good defensively last week, i mean we held the suns to 80 something!

yeah thats whats so frustrating about it, weve taken a step backwards for some reason
More than a step. It could be trade-itis...

We're uncoached.

This is crap. Marbury is playing 'his game' what you all wanted.., LB turns him loose, as you all wished and you blame LB? Please... they don't rotate on D. You cannot tell me that LB has not shown them how to rotate on D. They do not execute.
Why don't they execute?

It sure isn't because LB is silent about it. Maybe they aren't good enough. Maybe they are not smart enough. Maybe they aren't conditioned well enough. Maybe they cannot hear LB screaming from the sidelines. I am starting to think that they just aren't good enough.
You know I gonna spin wit it

um, Larry, teams think they can hit threes against your team. Fix it.

um - Larry ain't playin - he's proved he can coach D this is on the players

Phil if you bring a manager, with an exceptional track record, in where you work to lead a team that has been having a lot of problems and he has no power to fire employees. If he hasn't fixed the problem in 2 months is it his fault?

Oh, okay, it's not his fault that his team looks uncoached? This is a hall of fame coach. He needs to make a difference, not just whine to the press.

This problem shouldn't be lingering. Defenese is about wanting to, and know what to do. The coach has to drill that perimeter D into them, they're not gonna just suddenly figure it out without good coaching.

But it's more then coaching. Again Larry has proved he can coach D. THere is not a single player playing today on the Knicks who has proved he can play D - ever. Shouldn't you take historic performance into account at least a little bit before deciding a hall of fame coach who has proven his ability is more at fault then the players - who have not under ANY coach.
You're only as good as your latest work.

So basically you have no point to make.
No basically my point is, that what he did in the past is immaterial to what he is doing now. The fact that he has coached good d in the past does excuse him from doing it now. He's not.

OK - I disagree - you don't coach or do any job in a vacuum. You coach a team who is playing matters.

That's absurd, of course they're good enough. Any pro baksetball player can play d if he wants to enough.

Maybe the players are hoping that if they play badly enough Larry will get fired.

I don't know why these guys aren't playing for him all of a sudden, but they're not. I wonder if he lost them in practice this week, or if he's shredded them too much. He needs to rebuild them if he has.

But the history of the NBA is full of players who didn't want to. It takes more coaching to reach a lot of guys and some guys can't be reached. Hopefully LB will reach a few of these guys eventually.

I'm sure the Hawks will cool off in the 2nd half, problem is the Knicks will be down by 15 or 20 and will lose another #$%&ing game.
