I'd say you're an idiot. But I'm not that rude.
is that the kind of stuff that got you kicked of realgm?

A note of advice... agree/disagree, its all good. Bust someone's balls.. be my guest. Try to avoid talking to people in a way that you wouldnt if you were in real time. I'm pretty sure you would tone it down a bit if this was the real world.

Actually, ya. That is exactly the kind of stuff that got me kicked off.

Good call.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

the year the knicks went to the finals, they were an 8th seed.

Why don't you go watch that DVD?

that ragtag team of other team's rejects put it together.

No reason it can't be done at any time...New York City is that kind of city (see 69 mets).

All we need to do is get into the playoffs...the fans and players and management and coaches all know what is at stake.

Just have to put it together.

that's all I'm saying.

Now stop crying.

No, you know what. you're def. not just optimistic.

That team had HEART. They had DEFENSIVE STOPPERS. They had VETERANS. They had Patrick Fuckin Ewing.

How can you even compare that team to this one? That's shocking coming from a Knick fan.

that whole 99 8th seed thing is a total fallacy. Everyone knew that team was loaded and most picked them to be among if not at the top of the East. If Houston doesnt hit that floater JVG is fired and the rest is history.

This thread should be renamed "The hoss vs. bobs debate thread".

LOL It reminds me of the gory posts back in the Scott LayDown days.

I guess it's too late to get back on topic...
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

..and that was also during a lockout-shortened 50-game season.

When we win the title, thank God it won't have an asterisk next to the listing.

yeah, I always felt like the run did more harm than good in some ways. It's led to this notion that all the Knicks need to do is sneak into the playoffs, and then, because they're the Knicks they can make a run to the Finals. It doesn't work that way. The 99 season was weird, and if it had been an 82 game season, the Knicks would've probably had homecourt advantage at least. They were so far and away the best team in the East it's not even funny.

of course, it was probably the most fun I've ever had as a Knicks fan over two months. That 94 run was grueling. The 99 run was just so much fun.

Wow, I finally made it to the last page of this thread. Amazing how a thread about how much we need a pure shooter SG becomes a debate about Kwame, Jermaine Oneill, The '80 Celtics, age, and personal attacks. Just as in real life, when people stick to their ideas without trying to understand others' everything goes wrong...

it was...
that series was Houston's real shining point. He hit the game winner in Mia, madea joke of Mookie/Steve and the Hawks, and really torched Reggie Miller. I remember him in game 5 at Indy in the 4th. Every time down the floor he called for the ball and drilled one in Reggie's face. The guy was awesome.

The other thing is it changed the landscape of the East. Teams saw what Spree and Camby did and really changed in an effort to get younger and more athletic.

I think Q is that shooting guard that can shoot.

In the Sun offense, his job was to stand there and wait for the kick out (much like Crawford was used early last year).

Q's the real deal.

Comparing that team, is crazy they were deep at every position, had great defenders and size

Fowards-LJ, Kurt, Camby, Spree
Guards- Ward & Childs great defenders
Centers: Ewing and Dudley

And a good coach, that team was sick....Not to mention the finals would have been a different story if LJ, Childs weren't battling serious injuries and Ewing wasn't hurt

Just for jokes sake:

Forwards - TT, Rose, JYD, Ariza, Sweets
Guards - Marbs, Craw and Q great OFFenders
Centers: James, Frye

nevermind...

bobs...nevermind means I was kidding.

Too bad it didn't happen that year. We surely were loaded, unfortunately we weren't healthy. It was really an exciting run for a Knicks Fan, but from there on the perception was that NY just needed to retool to keep the playoffs streak alive, and we know what GMs did after that. Ward and Childs were great defensively. LJ was great posting up along with shooting threes ( a four point play anyone? ). Too bad it didn't happen that time. But things are looking better now. Hopefully we will have a new chance soon...

I have not been on this one!

I looked at the title and laughed. We need a guard t shoot, not rebound, not pass, not do anything else?

Sounded like Allan! LOL!

There is a general trend that all non-nick players are better thn what we got!

GIve it time, there will be lots of new and exciting trades, and more ot argue!

i'm hoping when school starts up again, he's going to concentrate on his schoolwork and trying to get laid. and if he's posting 900 times in september, then either he's not concentrating on school or...well, sometimes it takes a while for a boy to become a man

bobs - stay in school. study hard. say no to most drugs. and always wear a jimmy hat and you'll be cool.
