You guys - don't you see who Lee is gonna be?

He's our Elton Brand . Serious.

Obviously Isiah saw Blatche as Jonathan Bender part 2 and said no f'g thanks, and saw Taft as just a total f'g waste.

Lee will be absolutely for real. We all want Brand?? We may have just gotten him at 30.

Lee was absolutely fantastic in Chicago. This guy is relentless. Personally I feel that Lee was one of the most underrated players in the draft...
Frye was, too. And probably Robinson based on size.

I feel the exact opposite on Frye. We'll see.
I saw Frye a lot and he did everything well. I wanted him at 30 cause I thought he was under the Radar, but he went nuts in the tourney and then blew away Zeke in a workout. Tell me what his weakness is. He'll weigh 260 or 265 by opening day.

His weakness is a) he's week. I dunno about the 260-265 by opening day. If he does put it on I hope does it in a healthy manner. B) I don't think he does anything that well. He's mediocore in all facets. He's a poor rebounder and he's gonna have trouble holding position. And he didn't improve a lot in 4 years. I think he will be on ok player...Lorenzen Wright kind of player...but I'm not thrilled.

Like I said, I will gladly be wrong.

He's not a pure post up player like Brand. I don't see that at all. He is super athletic and active though and can play PF and C. I think he's a good contrast to Sweetney and would fit with a running style team (which it seems obvious we are building).

jeff foster.

we will field the first nba team to feature 11 role players and one minor star.
I will take Jeff Foster over Chris Taft anyday of the week. A guy goes out and grab 20 rebounds in a playoff game ain't bad. Taft went mid first round, Blatche refused to workout for teams in the late 1st round. Including a second invite the KNicks offer when he knew they liked him at 30. That is Omar Cook all over it.

I think he's gonna be super strong and relentless on the boards. He's gonna use athleticism and toughness and touch like Brand. This could be an unbelievable pick. It's like what we all fantasize an in-shape and intense Sweetney would be. Don't we always say it would be Brand?

V, he did 19 reps with those long arms at the combine. He remind Zeke of Duncan, not Lorenzen Wright. Serious fundamentals.

Wow, I really like the David Lee pick. He has the potential to be a Chris Andersen type player. Very active, great defense, great rebounder. He's 6'10", he has the potential to be everything we needed Nazr to be on defense. I have a feeling Lee and Frye will get a lot of quality minutes next year.

I think Isiah had a very solid draft. I was hoping Blatche slipped to 54, but he was a total headcase anyway.

Well done, Zeke.

To all the haters, once you actually see these guys play, you may feel differently. In Frye, Nate and Lee, Zeke got three WARRIORS tonight. Guys who play hard and play smart and are skilled and gifted athletes. This was a good draft.

For comparison's sake Mike Sweetney did 3 reps...but I'd consider him to a be strong player, and off what I've seen from Frye in college, I wouldn't consider him strong. Hopefully he puts on the mass in a healthy fashion and gives himself the base to defend guys in the post and establish position. That will be the x factor to see whether he can take it to another level.

Anyway, sorry to get too off topic on the Lee thread. I really think he will be a good rotation player and I anxiously await how are frontline will look come the start of the season...

Lee will be very very solid. he completely dominated the pre-draft combine. the kid plays w/heart and all-out hustle. can handle the ball some and a hell of a rebounder. not worried about him at all.
last i heard you guys wanted more guys w/heart, there you go. heart, hustle, and game. don't know about another pf, but to his defense he can play the game. well!

Here's another possible comp. for Lee...Stromile Swift.

After hearing what I heard about Blatche, thank goodness this team didn't take him. He refused to workout for late 1st round teams. Wouldn't work out for the Knicks again when he found out that they wanted him for the 30th pick. What ever he and Green got was horrible. You never close doors like that.

I have a comparison for Lee, and it is a white guy, but so what?

How about Thunder Dan Majerle?

I am not saying he will be anywhere near as good, but from what I have seen of Lee, his game resembles Dan Majerle's early in his career when he was still athletic more than any other player I have seen Lee compared to so far. By the way, he plays nothing like Elton Brand. ET is low post monster, a down low offensive focal point. Lee is a running player with a versatile offensive game including some low post moves.

Hmmm... I wonder... Does the Lee pick makes Sweets a goner? He is the easiest PF to trade now. We do need to get rid of at least one or two. We need centers, at least another one.

The offseason has just began! This isn't going to be the last deal Isiah makes...

well, I can see I'm going to be in the minority here but I really like this pick here. Lee has great size, is TOUGH, is a great rebounder and has a real motor. He's a hell of an athlete also... no white boy's disease here. This guy will make the roster and can be a real impact because he's got an NBA body and a real motor. Lee and Nate are two tough guys.

you are not alone, nate and lee are the type of guys you see on winning teams, both athletic, both are winners, both can play the game... Lee is not token white guy, he can play..

okay, I can see I'm out there alone with the Brand thing because Lee has a more versatile game away from the basket. But I would venture this - I think he's gonna really build on his low-post game and I bet Aguirre is really gonna work it with him. I mean already here's what he's known for on the post in college, and I think it's just the tip of the iceberg for this guy:

A good rebounder who really works on the glass… Relentlessly hits the offensive boards …gets great position in the post, and has excellent footwork… 6'10 with long arms and very quick for big man… Extremely quick and mobile in the post. Possesses a nice array of post moves, great footwork, Ambidextrous, meaning he can dribble and finish equally well with both his left and right hands (he's a natural lefty). Lee is especially good at establishing position in the paint and his soft hands make him a reliable target in the post. Has bulked up significantly, putting on over 15 pounds of pure muscle and dropping his body fat from 12% to 7

It would be interesting to find out if Isiah would have taken Simien, if he had been available.

He can add it to his MCD dunk contest. If he was 4 years younger and had a bunch of vowels in his name and hail from Europe he would have been taken by much eariler. Hard to get mad at Isiah for Lee, when Ainge had Lee after Green on his draft board with Hakim still there. I find it interesting that the Nets drafted Wright, passing on Green, Warrick, hmmm....

If he's that size he can play C for us sometimes...
