I see him as a scumbag party boy who stole money from the Knicks and betrayed the fans.

He was never a Knick as far as I am concerned. Whatever happened after his signing was a complete disgrace and a total non-basketball type of BS. Can't even say good riddance... Just a straight up fraud

I could never have imagined Simmons being such a complete dud. How was he injured sitting on the bench, or actually, home?

anyone want to man up at the disgrace this signing was? Some here seemed to defend this signing. I thought it was terrible at the time and the wrong direction to go. It was stupid to get rid of Robin Lopez who was signed to the best deal ever and played every friggin game.

At the time of the signing there were mixed reactions. The negative centered around his injury history which was a big deal and it was too much of a gamble money wise. There were positive takes in that he had always played hard and would be a leader. No one predicted he would abandon his professionalism to the night life though.

It’s not very often I root for a Boston team under any circumstances but I will love watching those drunken M ssholes chewing out Kyrie

I can't root for the Celtics. I grew up with Larry 'perfect' Bird always winning everything.

I'm not angry about the Nets.

sounds like someone trying to avoid manning up and admitting they were wrong. We had a decent team before we signed Noah. It wasn't great, but it was workman like, it had flexibility with the cap. Lopez was a far better player- dude is still balling.

Robin Lopez and Calderon for the first run with Derrick Rose.
To Phils credit, it was a good attempt if he was to return to some form. He eventually did, but it took longer.
He mentally was a mess then. Sex scandel Trial and his mega deal was ending.
We signed RoPez as free agent and he was a good value. Noah’ contract was not a killer. What made it awful was his lack of effort. That was bloody awful.

Phil tried a trio of Drose-Noah-Melo to at least make a playoff while rebuilding. It did not work. One part Triangle antiquation, one part lack of talent, and one part injuries. We all know what happend.

What the hell? “Manning up?” Give me a break. If revealing my thoughts on signing Joakim Noah at the time is the barometer of my manhood - that isn’t toxic masculinity that’s just dumb masculinity.

For the record I was as my previous post stated - I had mixed feelings. There seemed to be some hope he could come in as a leader and strong defensive presence but he totally betrayed us and his contract became a millstone. I’ve never thought about hiding that opinion and don’t understand what any of this has to do with one’s sperm count. And btw I liked Robin Lopez a lot also.

But of course YOU the man saw it all. Bravo.

Your local PhilJaxLovers contingent are stepping up and ready for the challenge!

Never understood breaking up KP and Lopez, top rim defense in the league for that one season.

I'll be rooting for the Celtics for the first time! I'm not angry at the Nets, I just think it would be such a mockery of the nba if a team comprising of one player who chose to sit out all the home games and missed most of the season, and one player who chose to sit out most of the year (replacing another player who mailed it in), turn up and win a chip- such a bad story.

Drose did return to some level of high talent. Whats not to understand? If your looking in hindsight at least "respect the timeline".
Rose was a mess when he got here. The AWAL, trial, etc.......he was not in a good place.
Phil was right. But his timing did not equate. DRose's second time was the charm.

I wonder had we kept Robin if KP's development would have gone differently - I think maybe we ruined him with expectations. Win now or your not worth anything.

In my mind at the time, if I recall correctly, I wanted to see a slow and steady build of talent.

Phil came in and thought arrogantly that he could build a winner overnight, probably because he inherited Jordan and started winning everything.

Relax! I'm not calling you or anyone out! And you're right - it should be about owning up to poor opinions we held in the past. Nothing whatsoever to do with personal attributes.

I just don't think you can hold anything against Noah - dudes body just broke down. And he was never the guy with talent, just a tremendous level of energy - and his short career burned him out.

And this is highly germane to our discussions now about trading Julius Randle. I hope we don't screw things up and do a trade to the Lakers for a washed up Westbrook.

I like our group. I like Randle (the version last year and before), but not the attitude that has been perceived. Tossing the ball off and walking off the court after a tremendous win is just too much of a downer kind of person. I hope the FO and Thibs can get Randle to just chillax. Chill out dude. Try to have fun! That would be my message to Randle - try to have fun, and if you can't in NY with this group, we will find you the best place we can (Indiana! OKC, UTAH!)
